I took this photo yesterday as practice for an upcoming airshow this weekend. How did I do?

You should start by buying an actual camera I guess

Seems alright, ignore the gearfags. Keep ISO low and shutter speed high and you'll be fine with your camera. If it gets dark, sacrifice the low ISO (Noise is better than blur) in order to maintain a shutter speed that's the same as your focal length: If you're zoomed at 400mm, make sure the shutter speed is 1/400th or faster.
Try to pan with the aircraft as well.

This unless there's propeller planes, then you're probably fucked because freezing the props looks absolutely dogshit.
You need them to be moving so just focus on the jet planes.

Both are right. You want as fast as possible on the jets and probably not more 1/400 on most prop planes otherwise they just look like they're floating.
Panning is fun too, have fun mostly though.

Helicopters are the same as prop planes, if it wasn't obvious.

Try to frame the vapor trails or smoke in the shot too, with the jets especially it helps show motion.
