what kind of post processing color grading bullshit do I need to do to have my pics have this kind of vibrant color?
download the google nik collection and use one of the film simulation presets
those are easy and fun

Fuji presets are cool where as Kodak is warmer. Also increasing exposure before into Nik preserves detail imo.
also, have a setting with vibrant colors. Don't expect snapshits in a city to be as vibrant

Lots of saturation and contrast slider, maybe throw some clarity in there.

Clarity +100

Serious answer: vibrant colors are by far more about lighting and subject than anything else. Find a subject with vibrant colors and shoot within a couple hours of sunrise or sunset, when the sun is bright and low in the sky. Then worry about post processing.

yeah that makes sense but I don't think the original image is all natural. If you had to guess what did the photographer do to make it look the way it does?

It looks fairly natural to me. Nice bright low-angle yellow sunshine with the sun well outside of the frame, possibly a CPL filter. Medium or high contrast curves in Lightroom, plus a little bump on saturation and vibrance.

Get a fucking polarising filter and fuck post processing. Take it right in the first place.
