When used properly black and white is an excellent way to enhance your photos. Still it is often overused for no reason. It's best to capture someone movement and concentrate on the subject. The photos overall essence just feels more raw and coherent, to me at least. It's not about some stupid nostalgia meme, some photos just look more bold and focused with out the distraction of color.
