However on /p/ any photo that isn't a "composed" shot of some random tramp, put in black and white for no reason and shot with some medium format pile of wank is apparently a "snapshit".

Oddly enough OP I have taken several good shots at car shows.

One thing I've found is shooting with my WAZ lens. I have a Sigma EX DC HSM 10-20 that I pretty much have decided is my car show lens. Why? Because I've found that the super wide angle lets me get close as shit to the car so people aren't walking in front of you constantly, yet the pictures look like I took it several additional feet away...Really weird but I guess it makes sense.

I like cars, but I'll never understand people who take photos of them.

Almost every shot is too tight, way too tight and not in a good way.
Some shots have a weird relationship with negative space in a way that's very uneasy. While you did go the extra mile and took a knee to take some shots or at least lowered the camera, you didn't do it on the shots that mattered, the full body shots really suffer from being at eye height.

At the very least, buy a polariser before you do this again.

The ceiling for good car show photography is really low. Once you master the basics of exposure, there's not really much else you can do. The cars are just sitting there, all cleaned up, doing nothing. Photos like these aren't bad, but they're a dime a dozen. Every single shot is the same thing.
