One of the rules of /p/ is that the photos are in fact under 1000 pixels on the longest side. After that, its best that you run them through JPEGmini to make the file size smaller.

Nice, I spent some time living in rural Fukuoka and other spots around Kyushu. I much prefer Kyushu to Honshu actually and Fukuoka is a great city. Be sure to try all the food stands that come out at night and watch out if you're at Canal City on a rainy day because the roof leaks like a mofo.

Alright here we go:
1. Before you decide to post pictures on /p/, I would suggest picking a few select ones that you really like and that you think are best. Now this can depend on the scale of the project etc. but most people won't look at 60+ pictures and will just scroll past it.
2. Taking pictures of people's back can be okay, but it needs to be done in a way that doesn't say "I'm afraid to take pictures of people from the front", which most of your pictures seem to reflect. If you want to shoot street, get some balls, otherwise try some different type of photography
3. Learn to PP. Your pictures look very bland, devoid of color and underexpsoed sometimes. They could certainly use some post processing.
4. As for the pictures themselves, there's only a few that stand out

For the love of god, stop shooting at ~F2.8 for every picture you take. Your depth of field is way too shallow in a lot of these pictures, and although it works for some of them, the rest you should shoot at a narrow aperture between F8-F16 to get more in focus.
Also, non one's stopping you from doing so, but shooting in Auto isn't a good choice.

OP, I realize being in Japan is all exciting and stuff and you want to relay your excitment of awesome to the rest of us, but these pictures just don't do it.
Almost every image you posted here is tourist snapshit tier, and not even even interesting tourist-snapshit tier.
Your main issue (aside from only photographing people's backs) is that your composition is pretty bad. You center your subjects when not appropriate in some phots, but probably most annoying you have a strong habit to cut off elements in the image at odd places, creating an unpleasant or unbalanced feel.
Your colors are also feel SOOC (in a bad way, don't know if they actually are) and make for a pretty dull atmosphere. Cities in japan can be pretty vibrant and characterful, but your images show nothing of this.
Also, as somebody else said, curate your images more. Post your 5 best pictures. Even better if you can actually tell why you like them.
Personally when I'm traveling, I have a habit of just snapshitting a lot, because foreign environments are interesting, and I like documeting that stuff for myself. But I don't entertain the idea that most other people would find those images very interesting, because usually they are pretty snapshitty.
For example, last time I was in Japan I probably took 1000+ snapshits, "saved" probably 300 of those for myself, but would probably consider ~15 of them to actually be "decent" enough to put up here, and of those for maybe ~5 to be actually honest to good images. YMMV, of course - this is how I work.

Learning how to nail a style you like teaches you a shitton of lessons. There's absolutely nothing wrong with aping someone else. Your own style will come in time. The more you learn, the stronger your preferences will be, the more you'll be able to define your interests, and that'll show.
There's a reason why a writer's exercise is to copy verbatim another author's work, a painter's to copy the style of some classical artist, etc. It's about becoming familiar with and mastering techniques. After you master them, you can figure out what parts of it and when it works for you.

IIRC you can basically photograph what ever you want in public spaces, but:
You can not publish/broadcast anything without having the explicit premission of everyone in your image, without opening yourself up to all kinds of lawsuits. Eg. You publish a photo of someone having an affair, they can now sue you six ways to sunday and demand damages for their ruined marriage, because they have a right to privacy, and them having an affair or not is irrelevant to that fact.
And of course, just because you're allowed to do something, doesn't always mean you should.

First off, you shouldn't listen to mouth foamers bitching about size. It's 99% newfags regurgitating bullshit that doesn't really apply anymore in 2016.
That rule has been around for a long time because sure, back in 2008 it made sense to keep everything under 1MB because datacap and how fast the images loaded.

Secondly, every single picture is bland as fuck with no though to subject, composition or even post processing. Does this mean you should fuck off? nah.
You're in Japan, go look at a shit ton of pictures from Tokyo and get some inspiration. See what you like and try to emulate it and from there develop your own style.
