I know I'm probably going to get shit flung at me for only posting one photo but anyways...
Something feels a bit off and I can't put my finger on it, this may sound stupid but I can't figure out wether I missed the focus or not. Through the lens and in Liveview everything seemed chipper.
What do does /p/ think?

Not enough DOF
boring ass flower
I like how it looks like a pair of lungs though.
The composition is almost symmetrical, but not perfectly, so the composition ends up between two chairs. Also, it's not sharp or well lit enough to justify the boring subject. f16 is usually not the sharpest aperture, and there's also some noise in there.
Since the background is all black, you should be able to recompose, extend the frame etc with ease, maybe giving it some more air around will help. You can also try either brightening the stem to give some color contrast, or just clone it away to simplify.

Thank you, I'll reshoot later on in the day, I usually stick around f/9-f/11 on this lens so I might give that a go.
Thanks for the advice
That's what diffraction does m8, try F8 or F11.

Yeah, I thought it would take effect starting around f/20 though, I mostly use flashes and this is the first time i've taken this kind of photo using a larger fstop. Now I know, cheers.

looks like an angry vagina.

you'd be alright with a macro lens. I usually shoot macro between f28-f40.
why not try shooting 4 or 5 exposures at f8 and focus stacking.

>you'd be alright with a macro lens.
Bu-but it is a macro lens...100mm L at that...
>>2911291
strange that you're having problems at f16 then? I usually shoot with one of pic related.

>15s exposure.
I hope your shutter was locked up and you used a timer or a shutter release remote.
>>2911297
timer and then using a phone light to 'paint' the light on.
I had another go at it, this time round at f/11, and it does seem better. Not a dark background because of daylight flooding in.
