you gonna wanna learn what effect different apertures give you and when to use them if you wanna use aperture priority

theres a shit load of tutorials on youtube covering aperture, shutter speed, exposure etc, just keep watching and practicing

learn how to compose your shots too, rule of thirds is a good start but it doesnt always apply, you gonna wanna think about your foreground/background, what your subject is etc

once you start taking some decent pictures youre also gonna wanna get some editing software like photoshop or lightroom, then watch a shit load of tutorials again to learn how to enhance your photos, levels and curves are probably most important imo

I personally am a huge fan of the book "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson

Aside from those, shoot, experiment with settings to see what they do (I'm a proponent of starting in priority modes to get a solid understanding of what aperture does, then shutter, and then play with manual if you want to, but if you're in manual and just lining up the arrow with the center, you're learning nothing).

Youtube's a great resource. If you have an adobe subscription, their videos are awesome. Basically, just dive in, start searching shit out, learning about it and practicing it.

Don't expect awesomeness at first, it takes time, but with time and effort you'll get it.

Also, there are three photo 101 assignments posted on /p/ now that you can try out.

If you shoot anything that isn't stationary aperture priority isn't what you want. Unless blur.

What? You know you can set auto ISO (with maximum) + minimum shutter speed?
At Fuji you easily set the aperture + auto ISO (say max. is 6400 - perfectly useable) and manual shutter speed if you want to freeze something. This way only the ISO is adjusted up to 6400 to match the aperture+shutter speed combination.

Okay so i took my first serious pictures, when there was this dark souls alike light, i took them setting everything at auto except my aperture. I'm thinking about buying 12 f/2 from samyang because i really want wider angle, and i'm really into infrared photography. Should i buy something else?

27mm 2.8
It's cheap, good and gives an almost natural field of view.
