Headlight draws all of the attention to it, but there's nothing going on. And what's with the camera side flash? Optical trigger? The rest of the body's a noisy mess. Either go for long exposure, or go for a silhouette. There appears to be the correct lighting for a silhouette shot, you should have done that instead.

the motor madness threads are usually rather good here, a bit slow, but the guys who usually post often can be rather helpful

have a go shooting during the day, a nice cloudy day if possible, and get a feel for where your reflections are coming from, when shooting from different angles around the car

I rather like using modifiers like softboxes to light paint with at night also, I like being able to emulate big light sources using cheap equipment
