I found an old film underwater camera that I want to play around with on a trip. I bought a roll of film loaded it in. Is there any way to make sure that I set it up correctly besides just developing the film? I can click down the shutter and roll the film right now.

if you can fit one of those gel silica packets in the housing without compromising that will take care of any fogging that might happen. make sure to grease the seal if you have any silicon type of grease or gel.
leave it out of the sun and be gentle with it.
idk what else, hard to know if its working short of doing a test roll in any water you can find and getting it developed.

Alright thanks, I'm just kinda skeptical that this would work with just a roll of film without anything else (like a battery)

It's a fixed shutter speed, there are no aperture blades or meters or mirrors or really any moving parts apart from the shutter . When you wind the film you prime a spring that released when you press the shutter button.

Ive used one of those op, mine was pink but exactly the same, i just shot with trix 400, the lattitude of film pretty much means if you are in the sunlight you should get a decent picture. It wont be sharp or focused by any means, but it does take interesting looking snaps.

Ahh coo info anonsl. I've wanted one of these shits for a couple of summers now. Too bad it'll be autumn once it'd arrive from China even if I ordered it now.
Fucking love water pics tho. Closest I dared to place another plastic box near the water:
