can someone explain what the different distances for focus are meant to do for fish eyes?
if i use infinite, it generally does what i need it to, but the shorter distances dont work for how im using it.
what are they supposed to be used for?
They're a meme

i dont believe you
I only use the slider forwards if a foreground object happens to be just a little too close. Maybe if I'm Indoors, but I'm using the 15mm.

Why do people get fisheys lenses, only to then defish them? Seems like a lot of effort.

It's a lot cheaper than buying a lens that wide, and sometimes you can get wider than possible with a rectilinear lens. But the image I posted is not defished

on 30mm equivalent you don't get any fish-eye effect. Lower than 24mm equivalent you startto get some if it's not rectilinear.
MFT is 2x crop factor, not ideal for UWA.

focus distance scale is just that, it says at which distance you will have the focal plane. Of course on wide angle the DOF is huge.

The 15mm body cap isn't a fisheye tho

It's the same kind of lens as the one OP is using. Almost identical except for the distortion

>70 degrees vs 180 degrees FoV
>fisheye vs rectilinear
>3/3 elements vs 5/4 elements
>almost identical

It's clear you've never used these before. I own both - the first image I found happened to be from the 15. They are extremely similar in use.

>They are extremely similar in use.
That's because they're both crap toy lenses.
