Either. You just change the lens on the front panel from a wide angle(landscape) to short tele(portrait). Pay as much as you can for the lenses - Schneider, super angulons etc.

I have the pictured camera sans accessories though I pretty much only use it for direct positive giggles these days. I'm also not really that knowledgeable about 4x5.

These camera are cheap because they are a lot of them around. The reason why people shy away from them for landscape work is that they are quite heavy. Generally people get something like toyo 45a. The graflex's range of movement is also less than that of some other cameras but is enough to do most of things you'd want to do.

If you're looking for a cheap way into 4x5 go for it. When you're ready to move on just sell the camera and put it towards a more expensive one.

Optical. It's a crazy lens. They were originally made for aerial recon. Really long lens with a really fast aperture. Worth looking up, it's a little neat.
