So? What is the equivalent of the Pentax K1000? Whatever body has the same shutter speed/sync speed and minimal features you may require like a self timer, shutter release or light meter.
There's very little difference between 35mm SLR's and even rangefinders. If you shoot on manual, there's even less difference between them.
It's especially silly asking about M42 bodies and lens recommendations for a specific camera as you can just mount an M42 lens.

If you asked this in the gear thread, film general or stupid questions thread someone would have answered you. Ask in there and get the detailed answer you want or just fucking do your own research m8.
