no complaints here but just a suggestion, you can bump up the ISO to 200-400 for faster shutter.100 to 400 isn't a significant difference when you're taking snapshits. I like it htough, good feel to it, maybe if you're a shoop pro, add fog and shit make it look all misty and melancholy.

I know that a higher ISO can be used to bump up shutterspeed.

also constantly check for hair on their face because that's going to be difficult to remove
smooth out textures and forms with minute dodge / burn. i do 4% opacity soft brushes onto a soft light layer. if you see a splotch interrupting an otherwise smooth gradient from light to dark, dodge / burn it away.

My guess? Two exposures composited. One 20s one to capture the night sky, then another 1s exposure to get the people and fire. It can't just be a 20s with the flash firing at the very end, the fire would be a huge bloom of light at that long of an exposure, and even with the flash there would still be considerable blurring around the people.

I think the dude that commented read the EXIF and saw the exposure bias and ISO and figured I didn't know what I was doing. I don't know. That 85 mm overexposes a lot, so I always under expose by -.7 when using that lens. either i desperately need a polarization filter, UV filter, or something is horribly wrong in my camera/lens, because there's tons of these purple/overexposed spots in many of my photos

That's chromatic aberration. It happens in most lenses at wide apertures, but may be more visible in cheaper lenses. Lightroom offers solutions to remove them, but they come with your equipment to begin with. Try stepping down the aperture a bit. You'll get similar green lights on out of focus elements behind your subject.

For the tonality, it started as a super flat photo, so I just played around with curves a lot. Raised up the blacks and added a lot of contrast between the blacks and the midtones. Used a layer mask on curves to just make the sky darker, then increased the contrast there as well. Used a yellow brush and soft light over on the left for those colors. Fucking around with the individual color sliders in lightroom is also fun. I brought the greens closer to yellow then dropped the blues and purples.

The image consists of 10 exposures all up, which I know is a fucking lot but it's the only possible way I could capture the scene the way I envisioned it.
Basically it's 4 exposures taken at 20secs and ISO 800 focused on the stars, and another 4 exposures at 20secs and ISO 200 refocused on the foreground tree (also lightpainted a little). Each set of 4 exposures are stitched in Lightroom to create two vertical Panorama's, which are then edited together in PS.
The other 2 exposures consist of one purely for the fire, and one for my mate and I chilling around the fire (I could have done this in one single exposure but there was too much movement in the fire for my liking).

Yeah these all have shitty composition. Like dude said, they should not be that grainy at iso400. Pay attention to you're white balance. Raise your aperature or your shutter speed, or even lower your iso if its too bright.
I'm no expert, but I've been shooting for about 3 years and I decided to take a digital photography class. You should too. Your stuff looks like my garbage when I first started.

I scrolled to cut away the soft-box of black thing on top! I like the headlight, the highlight of individual leafs and the dropped shadows. I interpret the given blur to be motion as the pot has no clear edges, what makes the picture less boring / static.

I'm just a casual photography fan, but I like this photo. If you wouldn't mind answering, where was this taken? Assuming that it's in America, my guess would be somewhere in the Midwest? Maybe, Oklahoma? Or, New Mexico (and, yes, I know that's not in the Midwest). Just taking a couple guesses as to where this might be.
And if I may ask another question, what's the better thing to do with regards to taking casual pictures that you do actually save, but that aren't particularly important: take the pictures at a lower setting (i.e. 4:3 Small as opposed to 4:3 Medium or Large) or take them at a higher setting and then resize them to upload to places like this? And what's the simplest way to resize photos?
Also, what's the actual/accepted rule with regards to image sizes on here?

I'm not sure, I've never seen a guitar from that angle, maybe I don't see any photos, but I digress. Also, the whole idea was to shroud the guitar's form in a way, maybe you think showing the whole guitar would've been cool, but I wanted to show just one element, and leave the rest be a mystery... also it's hard to get a nice image from the iphone, it usually compresses the hell out of them for me

Is the photo of the clouds? Why are there a bunch of distracting things in the frame?
Is the photo of the repeating lights? Why is it framed so weird and exposed so poorly then? Is the photo of the buildings on the far bank? Why didn't you frame it in a way that accentuated them? Why is there a big bush in the frame?

Well if you want us to look at the riverside, you have to give it some importance in the scene. Cramming it to the bottom of the frame, and cutting off a great deal of it, while leaving it very under-exposed, tells us that it isn't important, and that we shouldn't look at it. Also, there should be something nice, or interesting, or horrible, or otherwise notable about the scene to show us. Right now, it's empty, other than a boring path, a very pedestrian looking trash can, some bushes, a railing, and some buildings that are too old, and too new, to be interesting.
