I just got a roll of Kodachrome 40. After some research the conclusion is that there is not a single lab in this world that will develop it. I don't get it. Kodak won't do it and they're not producing any developer for the K14 process any more. So why won't they just make the process public so anyone can use it? I really can't understand the reasoning.

Son, shit just ain't that easy.
>>2745890
I know it's complicated as fuck. But they're not producing it and there are more than enough capable chemists out there.
>>2745904
>Kodachrome
>not usable
>>2745911
>film not being processed anywhere in the world
>implying usable
???
>>2745912
crossprocessing is still possible
>>2745915
>Crossprocessing Kodachrome
Kill yourself (unless black and white cross processing)
>>2745927
what else? Would NEVER (C41) crossprocess E6 slide film, but at Kodachrome bw is acceptable.
Is that Philip Lahm?
>>2745934
>Kodachrome bw is acceptable.
youre literal cancer.

>So why won't they just make the process public so anyone can use it?
But it *is* public, save for some lab tricks and tips that would make your life easier in the lab.
Yousimply need expensive chemicals that can only be bough in huge bulk, a chemist to mix them on spot because they go bad fast, some lab equipment to keep temperature and ph steady, and a couple dozen rolls to calibrate your 2 exposures.
>TL;DR:
It's just much more expensive than anyone's willing to pay, not impossible.
>>2746355
>so, what's your acceptable way of processing Kodachrome then?
you fucking dont.
>>2746323
>I'd rather let someone that knows their shit do actual K14 processing.
Cool, good to know. I'd rather be doing two chicks at once right now.
>>2746364
then what is OP supposed to do with that roll?
