Only with a different label to avoid the trade dispute raised by Carl Zeiss (Nikon is too similar to Ikon)

I doubt people will pay extra for the different name, but with hipsters you never know.

Holy OP, it has been a while since I looked up the prices on Nikon F, they are all over the board.

I would do a lot more research on the Nikkor named body, it could be in the area of $1-2000 instead of the $250 range for the average F.

I know, but my thinking is: I personally don't care about the different label, but some collectors might. If it really is worth (a lot?) more than a regular one I could just buy a nice regular F again if I miss it and do something else with the rest of the money.

Yes, I'm planning to do more research in any case. Problem is that it seems they aren't sold often, and that "Nikkor F" obviously turns up mostly unrelated crap in a search engine.

Just put it on ebay with a reserve price of like $900 (or whatever the least you hope to get out of it is). If the market wants it badly enough, you'll get your money, if it doesn't, then you get to keep your camera.

I'll do some more research first in any case, and then maybe I'll do this.

I'm also considering maybe selling it through Catawiki. It's a far smaller auction site than ebay and more targeted at western europe, but they have themed auctions for more collectable items where stuff usually sells for good prices (as a buyer, I've never ever found a "good deal" on photography gear there, which means it's probably great for sellers), and I could get an estimate from a specialist first and also set a reserve.

Anyone on /p/ happen to have experience with Catawiki?

Additionally I rarely sell on eBay so I don't have a high reputation (don't know if I even qualify for international selling yet...), and I don't know if buyers would trust some guy with like 60-70 reputation points for a rather expensive item.
