There's another book called End Game. It's so pensivily realistic about our doom and our manufactured indifference about said doom brought about by poisonous civilization, that it made me want to kill myself too.

Infact I gave End Game to two friends who also quickly become depressed about our worldly/personal situations. One friend like myself just blocked it out... we still realize how fucked things are and we're still red pilled, we just choose not to acknowledge it and go about our lives the best we can. The other friend dropped off with his gf and became a traveling organic farmer or something wholesome like that.

Hope that helps with your outlooks. Use what horrible thing you know as a tool to living better for the time you have here. Now you know what to avoid and have a better idea on how to strive for happiness in your personal life.

Nature has pulled through astroid strikes, mass volcano erruptions causing sudden eternal winters, life will go on. Even if the whole earth is througly caked in radioactive fallout there will still be life. Different and a lot less, but major events cause a new Gene pool to lead to more diversity. From a personal standpoint we're fucked. A simple major power outage would send major cities into ape mode. A disease, or if old faithful esplodes etc could really change life. But I don't think we're going to be extinct. Especially when some creeps on this board are replying from diy septic tank bunkers with 3 years of supplies.

Will shit really hit the fan anons?

Or are we just hoping that it will because we want to start it fresh?

Will we have to just come to terms eventually that shit will never hit the fan hard enough to bring down our owners?

Does preparing for it make sense? Should I buy a cheap 4x4 and fence off some land?

Should I just stay in the city and try to improve my social position?

it would take a pretty fucking cataclysmic event to cause a collapse of global civilization. I'm not sure if even a 4C global temp increase would cause it. It's basically a self-regulating meta-organism at this point (or maybe a tumor).

Instead of looking at prepping from the standpoint of being prepared for the end-times, look at it more from the standpoint of just being prepared for anything that the world can realistically throw at you.

Sit back, take a deep breath and start thinking of the logistics of human survival. Globally humanity is on track for a major population correction by 2100 at the latest.

Mine-able phosphorus deposits are all but exhausted meaning that crops will not be able to be supplemented.

As the population grows so does the demand for meat which is entirely unsustainable, it puts even greater strain on a system that is already breaking down.

As the foolish first world attempts to drag the third world forward for a fleeting sense of superiority and self righteousness they are only signing off on the death of most of humanity.

Ocean acidification and over fishing will ensure that the most depended on stocks of fish go extinct as they are already too over exploited and facing environmental changes they cannot adapt to.

The natural resources first world countries use and exploit do not scale to even the current population. There is simply not enough to go around and bring humanity up without destroying it in the process.

Get fit, get self sufficient, only have children if you are comfortable with knowing that in a few generations they will likely suffer immeasurably and perish like the dogs humans are.

Enjoy a front row seat to the end of society. If you are so inclined you can also contribute. Waste resources, spread disinformation, encourage excess.

There is no escaping the balance that nature will find again when man is brought to his knees and potentially added to the many species gone forever.

The universe won't bat an eye and neither should you.

>The ecology of the earth is collapsing
Not really, just the ability of some living things to thrive under some conditions

>Species are going extinct every day
And have been for millions of years

>All beautiful traditional cultures of the world are being erased by Corporate "Strip mall culture" that turns human into porn consuming designer jeans wearing mouths with a wallet attached
This is a problem, but leave the city and you still see plenty of culture. If I drive 100 miles north I will find people that speak Acadian or eskimo and eat walrus fat, if I drive 100 miles south, I will see New Englanders ruining the English language and eating whatever yanks eat, 100 miles west are poutine eating French speaking Québécois, 100 miles east you find Scots Gaelic speakers eating flipper pie, etc. All that cultural diversity in just on part of one newer country.

>Technlogy that was supposed to make life better has ruined our earth and alienated our citizens
How? It gas drastically extended our lifespans and made me able to have instant conversations with people throughout the world.

>The water is unfit to drink
Not where I live

>The air is unfit to breathe
Not where I live

>Even going /out/ is not an option because civilization will eventually find you
How so? They put a pipeline deep through the woods here but that just makes a nice clear cut for snowmobiling, running a trap line, spot and stalk hunting, etc.

>even out is not an option because civilization will find you

Honestly this bugs me the most. Leave for a few days, even after letting everyone know you'll be gone, and everyone loses their goddamn minds. I got a call from work that I found after I got back where they tried to call me in on a day I can't work even in a normal schedule

>Hey Anon can you come in today?
15 minutes later
>Hey Anon just because you're camping doesn't mean you have an excuse to ignore your phone and not call back.

Not to mention that in my country many of the ways you'd actually want to live while /out/ (at least in the start) on your own land are illegal thanks to asinine zoning laws. Hell I can't even live in a state of the art RV but a run down piece of shit trailer is fine. The idea that I can be told on my own land what is and isn't acceptable to live in is insane. Motherfucker if I want to live in a cardboard box that oughta be my goddamn right as an American as long as I don't have dependents that are suffering and I'm getting by ok.

Bro, you need to relax. Western nations are not this bad. However, they are on a course to be this bad if we allow mass immigration and globalism to continue. You need to push for a nationalist closed bored system. Protecting the environment is part of the nationalist dream as well.

Western nations have a stable birthrate. A return to traditionalism and a focus on renewables and environmental protection will lead to paradise.

Just gotta keep those unwashed hordes out senpai. If you want a future that is.

>>
1) The big stuff that we care about - trees, birds, fishes, mammals, fucking lizards - don't matter from a non-human, Mother Gaia perspective. Bacterial life is what matters, and it doesn't give a fuck about us.
2) Things are getting better. Maybe not in the US/India/other African countries, but the civilized world, hell even China, increasingly care about ecology.
3) Society is better too 99% of the issues we have now we inherited from previous generations, and we're fixing them, more people now go "money is not the answer, conspicuous consumption is retarded" than ever before.

The real question is, how to avoid being killed by humans when camping.

Just gonna post this here:

>THE TIME HAS COME TO RETHINK WILDERNESS.
>This will seem a heretical claim to many environmentalists, since the idea of wilderness has for decades been a fundamental tenet -- indeed, a passion -- of the environmental movement, especially in the United States. For many Americans wilderness stands as the last remaining place where civilization, that all too human disease, has not fully infected the earth. It is an island in the polluted sea of urban-industrial modernity, the one place we can turn for escape from our own too-muchness. Seen in this way, wilderness presents itself as the best antidote to our human selves, a refuge we must somehow recover if we hope to save the planet. As Henry David Thoreau once famously declared, "In Wildness is the preservation of the World."

>But is it? The more one knows of its peculiar history, the more one realizes that wilderness is not quite what it seems. Far from being the one place on earth that stands apart from humanity, it is quite profoundly a human creation -- indeed, the creation of very particular human cultures at very particular moments in human history. It is not a pristine sanctuary where the last remnant of an untouched, endangered, but still transcendent nature can for at least a little while longer be encountered without the contaminating taint of civilization. Instead, it's a product of that civilization, and could hardly be contaminated by the very stuff of which it is made.
