Perhaps join a volunteer mountain rescue team?
Like others have said, DNt has loads of trips, and I understand they're good places to meet /out/-minded people, if you can deal with "friskus" type of people.
I'm a part of the Bergen Red Cross Helpcorps, which is a good way of combining /out/ with giving something back to your community, and it can be very social if you want that too.
