I really hate living in suburban Ohio, and want to go live somewhere rural and do shit on my own, but there's nowhere to go within 20 miles. What do I do to get closer to nature, or at least prepare for when I'm old enough to ditch?

Aren't you old enough to ditch right now? Adults can go wherever they want.

How old are you?
When I lived in Ohio I lived like 20 minutes from Amish country, there's plenty of /out/ in Ohio you just need to know where to look.
Find some of those old train track systems they turned into trails, usually those are surrounded by woods that you can explore.
Google maps also has a filter that lets you find bike trails, and looking for unpaved trails is a good way to find low key /out/ areas you can explore.

Do you live in/near the 216? I'm looking to get /out/ this spring break.
