What do you guys think of LL Bean's hiking gear? Good or no? Looking for good hiking shoes

they look good, and im sure they will work well for you.
but im sure you could also find cheaper and or better gear
>>
They make awesome shit, and most of it is guaranteed for life, it is on the expensive side.

It's also aesthetic as fuck.

It's not the highest speed lowest drag, but it's good stuff.
>>
Those are the ugliest boots I have ever seen.

They are humid as hell. Waterproof is useless when when your feet can't breathe. They are also super slippery on mud, wet rock, and ice. Suck for walking more than a couple of miles. I gave mine away after 3 outings. Not sure if there might be some niche that they are good for. I couldn't find it.

I had the same pair for 3/4 seasons now. Lambs shearing on the inside, very nice, very warm. I wouldn't hike more than a mile or two in these though, they don't have a ton of grip but they are waterproof and super comfy. I'm a city dweller and they really shine on the winter shoulder seasons where its all slush and mud and puddles. I can also tuck my pants into the boots and not get wet cuffs.

As others said, you can send them back to be reshod or replaced for free, for ever. No proof of purchase, you can find a pair in a ditch and get them replaced for free. Thats why I buy L.L. Bean, not for tacticool equipment but because its quality.

LL Bean's hiking gear is good, but I hope you know that your pic related aren't hiking boots, nor do they market them as such.

I suspect this is a gentle troll.

so they have some good stuff but they are also kind of a big box store of outdoor products. I think in every case you're going to find something better by trying more of a specialist. But that being said, they are a good catalog place for general outdoors products and I do like the stuff I've gotten from them. For casual hiking shoes you could try them. But for anything other than a walk around the lake go for something more purpose built. that's my view.
>>
The Bean boot isn't really a hiking boot. The sole has no tread/lugs and the upper doesn't really provide any support, it's just soft leather. I bought some for walking around NYC in the winter, but for hiking in snow id be in my Scarpas and snowshoes, or AT skis. Bean stuff is heavy casual city wear
>>
i went to ll bean once and didn't want to try on ugly pants and the saleswoman gave me such attitude for not "just trying them out" that i will never go back "seriously? why won't you just try them"

like seriously bitch fuck off with your ugly ass pants
>>

Yeah same, I use my bean boots for city winter and chores outside when it's snowy, nktnfor hiking. But they're comfy and warm for what I use them for.
>>
Wear op pic related for a couple seasons and have foot fungus for life.
4/10. Would not recommend
>>
>>969418
look for Dallape Stivo, anon. Italian, full leather and awesome
>>
>>969633
They're basically perfect for the weekend warrior between price point and build quality.
>>
>>969418
I've never actually worn their boots but basically everybody in New England busts them out for the winter and everybody loves them, so do with that what you will
>>
Lifetime guarantee
>>
>>969633
They were meant for far north New England. I think the waterproofing is for snow and not a swamp. Good review for anyone not in Maine though.
>>
>>969418
dont get these boots, theyve become really trendy. I see suburban frat boys wearing this shit all the time with stupid button ups. It's like the winter version of sparies
>>
They are some of the ugliest boots ever.
>Muh Street Wear style
Fucking garbage.
>>
They have really nice thick flannels for winter I wouldn't bother with the boots
>>
good for shoveling snow and if used only as such will last many blizzards

don't see the point in wearing them edc though, as they're not super comfy
