Is it okay to use a ridingmower as a form of transport around the homestead/farm? Instead of a golfcart or ATV.
What should you look for in a ridingmower if you intend to use it as transportation?

There are generally three ratings for those, from lightest weight / lowest power on up;
Riding mowers > Lawn tractors > Garden tractors
Something like this is a riding mower;

You need one of these bad boys. Build a platform over the front and strap all ur shit to it.
9 out of 10 Mexicans trust them. Would you want advice on lawn mowers from anybody else?

People do it here all the time.

I would think a tractor would be used for heavy work over short distances, and a mower would be used for lighter work over longer distances (so ideal for moving around).
Or maybe that's dumb reasoning.

now that was very American of you
Just take the blades and the deck off, add some ATV tires to it and off you go.
lack of shock absorbers + speed = concussive shock

Why? You can get a decent used quad for $1k that will be far more capable.

>current year
>not installing an air ride seat on your mower
It's like you don't even want your Mexicans to work 18 hour days.
ey bro, I would get a golf cart instead.
me an da homies like to ride.

>has an actual reason to own and use a Polaris with a bed.
>doesn't immediately go out and buy seven
dude what the fuck?

Those things are expensive as fuck new. Like you could just buy a slightly used Kia, throw a cheap ass generic lift kit on there and some mud tires, and probably be cheaper than a new Polaris or those John Deere things.
We have two engine powered vehicles at our homestead: a garden tractor and a "field car" (direct translation from my native Finnish). The first one is actually very useful when moving small amounts of construction materials and the second one is mainly for kids to have some fun with. If we're not carrying anything heavy, we just tend to walk or take one of our old bikes we bought from a military auction, those things just can't break down. Pic related.

72 inch cut or go home. idk what kubota did with the old ZD 331 diesel model which was 31 hp because all i see on their website now is 24.8 hp. maybe they changed motor suppliers. the ZD 331 made like 63 lb/ft and honestly it could have benefited from a little more.
i don't exactly miss mowing grass 8-12 hours a day but my kubota was comfy as fuck. first model with the foot pedals to raise and lower the deck.

Also, I have a 2004 Craftsman GT5000 that has almost 900 hours on it. I have rebuilt the deck once. Solid machines that can be had for cheap. Dont know about the newer ones though.
