Hey guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I'm going innawoods (France, Ardennes) to camp solo with my dog. I have alot of experience to survive in the woods with my gear but never brought my dog with me. Got any tips to give her a good/comfortable night sleep while its -4 C.
I'm sleeping in a bivi with a DD tarp.
> Pic is related. It's a Dutch Shepherd.

I am also curious to know if anyone here has experience with this.

I too want to know if a dog can sleep outside in mild weather
Share your bivi, or throw down a blanket next to you under your tarp. Does your dog usually sleep with you or does she have her own spot at home?

You need ground insulation and shelter for your dog. You wouldn't put him in the yard overnight in those temps with no dog house or shelter, would you?
I take my GSD out with me all the time, even in temps that cold. What I've done is of course bought him a nice jacket to wear while sleeping. That helps a lot. Then I also bought a child's sleeping bag, mine is Minnie Mouse, and that kept him extra toasty. Kudos for taking your dog /out/ lord knows mine looks forward to our camping trips more than anything.

Here is a pic of her in the austrian mountains.
I get the ground insulation, I was thinking of letting her sleep in my coat. (Down Berghaus).
But I'm not sure if its enough. Anyone got any experience in the - Celcius area with dogs?

That lives in a cage? Sad....

OP here, she's a workline shepherd. They need to be told when to go to rest otherwise she'll keep going untill she falls over.
Nothing sad about it.
