he said a vacant property down the road (no house or anything, no beach access was going for 5 mill.

Two years ago i had -38, this year i have had -27. Each night i had the door open and was in shorts, flip flops and a t shirt because i filled my stove with wood and the place got so ridiculously hot that it got up to or over 100 inside. When i first got the place i insulated it like crazy but the stove the previous owner had left is far too large for a 12x24 cabin, it could heat a house like in OPs pic. Mostly it is around 20s in the winter with occasional -10 to -15 for a few days with a -20+ blast every now and then.

You can find @50 acres for 35K or 10 acres for 15K in Somerset county Maine easily, paying that back isn't that big of a deal. Wait, i did fuck up. I used a 18 months of VA vocational rehab to extend that. There is this VA disability/GI bill.VA rehab sweet spot that i hit. I only got around $75,000 from combined BAH and Pell Grants.

If you game GI bill and VA Vocational rehab you can get two years of rehab that extend your effective GI bill by 18 months/3 sessions. Both can get you Pell Grants, that is important.

I gamed switching between rehab and GI bill so that i still have 18 months of both, i could (in theory) still get $5000 in Pell Grants for 3 sessions if i wanted.

Shit, i just realized i should go back to school to finish getting everything i can.

Most State Universities hide the benefits because it costs them ALOT of money, URI is a exception as they bend ove backwards for them.

Go to a place like URI, it is a really good school.

Whatever hesitation you might have about buying a few dozen acres of ground in a unincorporated territory in Maine should be vanished by the reality. You can buy acres of land for $500-$1000 an acre and they have insanely low yearly tax, i pay less than $200 a year for my property. We a;so have no building codes or building permits.

Everything that is not on the coast is dirt cheap, like a couple hundred dollars per acre.

The thing to look for is a "hobby farm" listing and such, which means you don't
have to compete with big cattle buyers, and the chinks are generally restricted from buying farmland so there is not the artificial price hike you see in the big cities.

I am saving up for some land about a 30 minute drive inland from Noosa, and it is honestly a quarter or less than what the same house costs in Noosa.
