What cheap, waterproof rucksack do you recommend that's

I bought one of those marine LGBT packs. It came with a dry bag and I believe it's 70 liters. The thing is awesome and carries lots of stuff but I hate that it's camo.

Stay away from cheap, I was /out/ way up this rough steep track carrying a load of 50 traps in and one of my straps snapped about 2/3 of the way in. Not worth, go for quality.

These things are fucking heavy but "bombproof".
Get a normal civvy/hiking pack without the waterproofing and use plastic bags. Unless you plan on going swimming with the pack then use dry bags.

You can turn cheap into decent, but you have to be willing to put in the time to reinforce the seams on major load-bearing areas. Obviously you can't do much if the material itself is shit, but lots of cheap packs are made of adequate materials and are just slapped together quickly.

Still, unless you're a total poorfag or just really like DIY (in which case why not just make a custom one from scratch?), saving another 50-100 bucks for a better pack isn't hard.

the only water resistant packs are made with cuben fiber and a few other expensive materials, mine cost $360. Get a shit bag and line the inside with a trash compactor bag

So uh say you were planning on going homeless because your bored and not afraid of death and also getting kicked out, what kind of stuff would be most essential? I know about basic survival stuff, but what's the stuff that will make the difference between making it and not making it? I have an Osprey Kestrel 48. It came with a rain cover. I spent hours heavy rain, but at the end of the day, everything inside is bone dry. Didn't use a garbage bag or anything inside either.
