Yeah right, cunt

In the pastebin in the OP of the fishin thread, there is a fly guide but it was written by Skid so might be completely useless
>>912311
That's for the tip friendo
>>912312
Nobody has read it yet so I might just be furry fandom shit.
>>912314
Idk I caught a glimpse of it while trying to copy and paste it. Can confirm there is no visual furfaggotry present but even if I did read the whole thing, I don't know shit about fly fishin and couldn't tell you if any of it is true.
>>912311
Yeah I know I'm retarded :]
Should I eat it?
>>912367
doubt it. also, go somewhere else. There's a foraging thread.
>>912369
It wasn't on Page 1
I should probably just make a new one!

Is that floyd's fork?
Louisville boy here - can never find a spot without trees!

What tips you want to know OP? I can try and help answer any general questions.
Skid from the fishing generals only has limited knowledge.

Where the hell do you fly fish in Kentucky?
I lived there for 20 years and did nothing but fish for bass and catfish.
>>912701
Mostly what baits are better at different times of year. Also general technique for things like wading and casting cause I seem to have a problem of often scaring off the fish. N00b alert.

Try working on your roll cast to make trees less of an issue.
Experienced fly anon here. What you want to know exactly? There is so much to know that cant actually answer in one sentence. But i will try to give you some info on bumps....
>>912753 Wading against the stream of course so you wouldnt scare them. Try to move as quietly as possible for trout! Look your local water relater bug hatching times. They feed on what they can find so its always best to look around and under rocks to find out what they feeding on at that time.
Very approx i can say that dry flies in hot/warm weather and nymphs all year around. Same goes for spin fishing with topwater lures - when water is cold they get inactive and stay near the bottom because there the water is few degrees warmer.
For trout they are not bottom feeders like carp or tench so trying to get them on same tactic is unlikely.
Try agressive colours... For me the best works orange and red - makes them horny af.
They love hiding in small pools, behind rocks and trees - thats where they feel the safest thua have the best chance making them take your fly.
Pic related on of my favourite trout flies - first time got my hands on it when my relative brought a cheap pack with them from canada, they cought many fish but quality was shit... European here

Really useful stuff, thanks man.
>>912919
Btw when buying a rod not only choose it by the size of river you fishing at... More important is the flies you want to use and fish you want to catch.... Always wanted something like 2#wt rod as the feels when hooked up would be goddamn but then again i fish for european chub a lot with pretty big floating beetles and the fish sometimes are around 2kg so throwing the fly and succesfully landing the fish would be pretty much a struggle

That's neat, you go down near Camp Carlson?

Tailwaters of Carr Creek in SE KY. Just below the damn. Its stocked with Rainbows who always seem eager to take a parachute adams. I usually run a copper john as a dropper with the adams.

you know that almost that exact same thing could be said for any thread on here seeking advice on something, right? Just change fly shop to whatever shop relates to the activity they're asking about.
I fly fish otter creek on occasion, floyds fork, elk horn creek, green river tail waters and cumberland tail waters. A few others as well but those are your main waters for trout. Get on your facebook and look up derby city fly fishers, they dont mind helping a new guy out.

Will do, sounds good man.
