also, the flashlight is usually just for quick on and off stuff looking for shit in the work truck. it's got a light in it but it kinda sucks and most of my day is spent before the sun comes up. headlamp wouldn't be convenient to carry or use for me but some guys at work do have them.

There's the big blue ones that I like most of the time and then there's the smaller white lap sponge like pic related and those are real soft and absorbent but don't last as long as the blue ones. They are free anyway but the white lap sponges will stand up to some hot wash and dry cycles but after a dozen or more they wear out.

Seems like the right place for this...I would Iike to see what thoughts you all might have about addressing all of the categories of survival in your EDC loadout. I have been contemplating testing and building mine for some time now but still need input. The survival categories I am trying to cover are; Fire, Water, Shelter, Clothing, Food, Cordage,First Aid, Container and Cutting. The idea is to cover each section as reasonably as possible. It must be true EDC. Pictured is mine right now. Upgrades are needed still but I really want to hear what thoughts there are about the idea and selections made.

Fire - Bic Lighter
Water - Iodine Pill (not pictured)
Shelter - Ideally an emergency blanket but I have no idea how to EDC it conveniently.
Clothing - Whatever is worn
Food - Looking at food pills but currently undecided here.
Cordage - 6ft paracord fob
First Aid - Ibuprofen 200mg, Acetaminophen 500mg, Benadryl 50mg, (pills not pictured. Will be added with iodine pill) duct tape, amd bandana.
Container - Water bottle (not pictured)
Cutting - leatherman and survco tactical axe (axe not pictured and untested but for giving you a saw and hatchet as part of EDC seems to have potential)

the swiss knife i use as a keychain and basic multi tool. my dad gave it to me 30yrs ago. it was my first knife.
the folding knife is what i mainly use for boxes. the neck knife is in case i'm carrying something in my right hand and need to open something with my left. it happens often enough that i bought the neck knife.
