I've always loved the idea of having a bow and arrow. Where can I get a good one that is easy to maintain? Initial starting cost doesn't matter to me.

You can find ideas in books.

There's already a bow thread.

Get a Sammick Sage.
It's widely regarded as the best budget recurve bow.
I got one recently, and it's fucking awesome.

I'll look into it, thank you. What type/brand of arrows do you use.

Just standard carbon fiber arrows.
I'd also recommend getting;
-bow stringer (i got one by Bear)
-nock point
-leather archery glove (so you dont fuck your fingers)
-arm guard (even if you dont use it yourself, its useful to have it for friends)

I'll look into these. Thanks.

you should not just shoot any arrow
it needs right weight, spine and length for your draw and your bow
there are tables and online calculators to get the correct spine

REEEEEE
If you don't bareshaft tune your arrows you're literally asking for inconsistent shot placement.
