snares quite often kill the rabbit before you find it.
If you live in moor or heathland rabbits will create bolt trails in between holes that they run along when danger is near.
Find rabbit holes and then get near to the ground and look for clear paths about the width of your fist from hole to hole.
If you want to catch rabbits and not run a risk of killing them just buy rabbit traps and bait them with nice veg, raddishes work well.

Just look up non-lethal rabbit snares. You could probably do something similar to the famous minnow-trap.
Carrot or onion at one end. Rabbit has to squeeze into very small space to get in, ideally tight enough that when it's done nibbling, it can't turn around or back up

Or just use a fucking live trap

Yeah go buy a havaheart trap from a hardware store they're like 20 bucks.

I would suggest a box trap and some kind of veterinary gas anaesthetic, perhaps nitrous oxide. Bait it, rabbits come to bait.
