Cold Steel Finnwolf
I like it. Strong lock, scandi grind.
opinel or mercator knife
>>883341
opinel
>>883362
Have that. Dont like how it corrodes easily and humidity in forest can make the handle expand and blade will start moving hard
>>883364
yes thank u
>>883366
How picky are you about steel grades?
The finnwolf I posted is Aus8, which is pretty ordinary.
>>883364
both of them lock, albeit opinel only at size 6 and up
>>883368
Not really picky, need something that will hold an edge but is still sharp

If you're going to the military get some fixed knife though.
A model that I like that's just a slipjoint is Coteau Savignac or something like that. Traditional french folders, under 50 euros.
I am swooning for them all the way from the US

Here's the website. http://www.couteau-savignac.com/en/

Honest to god, I have to wonder how well something like that would actually hold up. Apparently it's made of some ultra-gucci nippon steel.
Who the fuck even buys this shit?
>$400
>Laminate steel
>>883817
Estonian actually. Army doesnt quite allow you to bring your own fixed knives
Bundeswehr Offiziersmesser. Comes with a saw and is big enough to feeel good while working. I paid 17 €. It may is illegal, but with common sense there never was any problem.
>>883370
opinel lock is a fucking joke neger
>>883357
i like scandi grind knives and i like cold steel folders but i hate this particular item. seems to me like a mockery of both.
>>883558
soldier has a kind of serrated blade but they have ones that are without that crappy shit under other names.
Byrd Cara Cara
CRKT Drifter
I like those 2 for everyday EDC, whether /out/ or not
>>883425
I prefer plain edge knives for /out/door purposes. But yeah, EKA knives are not bad.
>>883362
>>883361
Yes. Opinel No.9, folding knife, blade as long as you need, locking ring only 10 squids on Amazon.
Pretty much all you need for a utility knife. Constrution feels a little light but still good value.
>>883910
How so?
I bought mine because it was cheap and I liked the blade profile.
>>883518
there is a löwenmesser that locks?
https://www.lamnia.com/fr/p/14899/couteaux-et-couteaux-pliants/couteau-pliant-realsteel-bushcraft-folder
D2 steel which is nice for the price
Liner lock though
>>883363
they now offer several polymer handle models with 12c27 blades
>>884066
Replying to my own post because i'm wondering if this would be an ok knife to edc ?
>>883363
you have stainless steel blades and plastic handles. And the way they lock is pretty smart

>Estonian actually. Army doesnt quite allow you to bring your own fixed knives
I do not know what you are talking about. Also Est, did my service 2 years ago and from my experience there only are 2 options.
1) a fixed blade that is cheap, robust and fits into your leg pocket. (essentially your regular mora). Pocket size is about 25x16 cm so the holstered knife should not be longer than 15 cm. Also everything rusts in Estonia, so prefer stainless steel.
2) Get out your money and get some letherman-like multitool. Any fella who is really motivated about their service time will get one anyways and they are actually really practical if you have a shell casing somewhere stuck in your gun or need to repair something. Also they fit into anywere.
You can also get lucky with your bayonet. I personally got a pretty sharp one, and it stayed sharp until the end, only minor sharpening.

>so the holstered knife should not be longer than 15 cm
Edit: 25cm
