Hey /out/ I'm looking for sinkers for peir fishing and for current. I've herd I'm supposed to use these sinkers ( pic related) but what does /out/ use? And what ounce number?

I use the one on the left for pier and surf (San diego- we get decent tidal forces and rip currents)
But the pic shows that you can be creative.

Oh ya, weight depends on what's left in my tackle box but should depend on condition.
Heavier stuff just for stormy days.
Sinker form = place where fishing (sand, mud)
Weight = weather, current, line and rod test....
Just buy different kinds and test i dunno where you fish and the best way to learn is experiment not listening advices in 2chan

I haven't been pier fishing bit for surf I use #4 pyramid. If I need more than that then I'm probably not going to catch anything around where I live. The fish are spoiled and like calm water.

I've got a few of those bigger 4oz pyramids and they will def stick in a little current but don't go overkill. Plus your average medium weight freshwater rod isn't going to like stuff over an ounce.
I fish in the James River. I use 3-4oz egg sinkers. I never liked pyramid sinkers because they snag on everything.
