The stuff people use now fills the entire tube. It isn't just a little bit of stuff sloshing around in there. It is also very thick and won't come out of holes caused by nails or thorns.

Solid tubes are better though, since you never have to mess with the other crap when you finally need to replace them.

All these people saying goat heads cant be stopped with sealant... I dont know why the fuck you say that, i live in Nebraska and goat heads are absolutely everywhere. Thick tubes plus sealant and ive never once had a problem on my mountain bike, i pick upwards of 20 goat heads off my tires damn near every single time i ride and i havent had a flat.

Pro tip: I find big logs or rocks, felled trees, etc. , and move them across paths, especially on blind corners, so that when they do that ridiculous zoom around the corner like you mentioned, they are at considerable risk of breaking their necks instead of hurting a poor hiker.

Goatheads don't sprout unless they've gone through a digestive process. The easiest way would be to eat as many goatheads as you can and then go take a few craps where you want there to be a patch, but you could also take a goat or three out to a goathead patch for a day and collect their droppings.

Put up signs. Some people will ignore them, but it should at least reduce the volume of cyclists.
