What camping spade do you use?

I have a "Glock Entrenching Tool", AKA that indestructible folding spade I used during my military time.

I use the nature brand stick, because who needs a spade when all youre gonna be using it for is a latrine.
>>
>>875356
I just bring a full-sized shovel with solid fiberglass handle.

Reported to FBI. Haha sucker you stole government property.
>>
>>875604
You know you can buy those as a civilian, right?

Also
>implying I'm a burger
>>
>>875356

I use a plastic gardening trowel. It's pretty much perfect for what I need it for (ie poop).

If you need somehting more substantial, I hear that the Coldsteel Special Forces shovel is fucking awesome. Yeah, yeah, I know. Coldsteel. Put all the tacticool marketing aside and it's supposed to be a first-rate shovel
>>
>>875604

My god you're dumb.
>>
I like my gerber folding shovel but its just not worth the weight backpacking. I only carry a plastic cathole shovel now.
>>
>>875420
So fucking this.

Sometimes i also carry a folding E Tool. The small shovel just wont cut it for some jobs.
>>
>>875416
i feel like thats unnecessary, why that instead of something smaller. what is the added benefit?
>>
>>875356
I just use my bear hands
>>
>>875420
I carry a little hand shovel like this I bought at a garden center. Was like $3. I'm sure I could get a lighter weight one with a meme /out/ brand for $30 to save a few ounces but what's the point.
>>
>>875754
You can use it as a hiking pole.
>>
>>875755
Bears don't even have hands you mong.
>>
>>877552
sure they do sometimes in their mouth sometimes in their belly.
>>
>>875754
Because I can do anything I want with it and I'm not limited. Saving space or weight is retarded. Use a deer cart.

Plastic trowel for poop.

Gerber E-tool is better.
>>
>>875613
OP admitted it was the same one he used in the military.

>>875716
Not as dumb as the guy who brags about stealing from the government
>>
>>877609
He doesn't label is as the same one.
>>
>>877596
How's the locking on that? Every collapsible shovel I've had is rubbish
>>
>>877656
He did. He said it was the same one

Anyone have experience with the fox tools shovel? Looks really nice, but it's pricy af, and I get the impression the mechanism is prone to fail.
>>
>>877548
thats sort of true but it feel like a hiking pole and a smaller shovel would weigh less and be less bulky
>>877593
i mean that is sort of true, but what exactly are you limited from doing with a fold-able spade? also saving space is up to you, and a deer cart is definitely not viable in every or even most situations
>>877663
the same one could just mean the same brand/model dude
>>877675
i don't have any experience with it, but just the fact that the handle has half of it missing seems dumb. the amount of weight you save from that would be pretty negligible and you don't save space so i'm not sure why you would bother
>>
>>877681

>the same one could just mean the same brand/model dude

I guess it depends what the definition of is is
>>
>>877706
>I have a "Glock Entrenching Tool", AKA that indestructible folding spade I used during my military time.

The above statement implies it is the same make and model as the one he used during his military time.
>>
>>877681
Yeah, the handle swings out(and then the blade folds down) so it can only have half a handle. It looks cool, but for an etool, rugged simple reliability trumps all.(which is why that cold steel one is prob the best, even if it's hawked by a bunch of fat mall ninjas. No folding at all.)
>>
>Glock
>entrenching tool
Shpuld you really be using hand grenades to dig?
>>
>>877730
And that it's the same one he used, hence the stealing. Boy you are dense but you finally got it

Glock makes good pistols, but their 'spade' and knife are famous for being overpriced peaces of shit.
I say OP is a Glock hired fag.

The knife is 25 bucks for a thick spine carbon steel blade. Hard to do much better. At 1000 dollars it's the pistols that are overpriced. Reliable pistols can be had for 250.
>>
digging stick for most practical issues. if its thick mud out here in the rain forest and or mossy my trusty d2 kabar will cut nice cone sections out that the digging stick can take out.

shovels are way too heavy for what limited uses i find it to have imo. use that weight for a more comfortable sleep system.

The shape of the blade is garbage and the handle is utter garbage.
I really hate it and im not the only one.
>Hard to do much better.
Very easy, sir.
>At 1000 dollars it's the pistols that are overpriced.
They are. In USA. In Urop they go for 650.

Who the fuck pays $1000 for a fucking plastic fantastic piece of shit? I buy custom Sigs and M1911s for that.

Pic related custom G17L = $500.
Glocks avg $400/500 4 me.

Dude your thinking is fucked up. Whenever you see serrated blades, you automatically think "tacticool". Well go fuck yourself as I solely bought this shovel for when shtf. If I see you on the streets after doomsday, we'll see if it's still tacticool or a cold forged killer.

Does this really work well? Titanium is great and all but it seems like exactly the wrong metal for a shovel, especially one that sees abuse for light chopping.

>>878044

Don't have it but I've heard nothing but great things about it. Well, except the handle. Apparently, a few last year were defective (cheap/free to replace) and nobody likes the varnish on the handle. So people say to strip and replace with BLO.
