Why aren't you microfishing yet?

Still waiting on anons to help me with the Pastebin. If anybody is really familiar with and wants to write a short intro guide and equipment list for pier fishing, surf fishing, fly fishing, river/stream fishing, etc. send it to me at GetSomeMemes at gmail dot com and I will post it on the Pastebin. All I have on there so far is an intro to lake and pond shore fishing and I think memecaster intro. Also anything that should be on the Imgur, let me know.

Pastebin and Imgur. Thinking about picking up a new hobby? Want to get a memecaster? Haven't mastered the Palomar knot? Click here!

Too long of a rod or pole gets cumbersome
I've seen those 40 foot poles but I've never seen them as much more than a novelty for modern fishing
13-20 feet and a pair of waders is infinitely more practical
>>
>>874009
Some places you can't wade, like in channels.
>>
>>874019
And most places that are not over fished you don't have a straight line 40 feet back to shove a pole

Heavy action casting rod for frog fishing around ~$50-$80

also any opinions on the Daiwa Aird X line?
>>
>>874037
Idk about heavy, but there are some Abu and Fenwick rods in that range that would probably by nice. Shimano Sellus too, those are normally fairly heavy, come in cool sizes like 6'9", and I like the reel seat design a lot. Otherwise see if you can find a good deal on a Bass Pro brand rod.

Rods are strange though, you really just need to go play around with them and see what you like. It's hard to reccommend stuff because everybody has different preferences.
>>
Do you really need all that expensive, fancy gear to fish? Can I just tie a line to a solid branch and put a worm on the hook?
>>
>>874039
I have a shinamo sellus 7"2 MH XF rod and not sure If I should try frogs with heavier braid on it, currently setup for wormin/jigs (as the rod has marked as a worm/jig rod)
>>
>>874030
The pole can disassemble as you pull it in. So you can use any length you need, kid.

>>
>>874070
No, you don't need all that crap. You can literally catch most fish using a cane pole. Different types of live bait will be needed for some species.
>>
>>874073
Or you can not use a 40 foot pole and use a rod and reel instead
If you've got room to swing around a 40 foot pole you can manage a 7 foot rod

Can anyone recommend a small dingy? There is a 6 acre 'pond' in town open year round that I fish a lot, and I'd love to get off the shore. I'd be down to spend up to like 200$ Maybe 300$; my biggest criteria are 1) able to fit in my hatchback 2) stable and won't dump me in the water

>>
>>874158
Never been in a yak, isn't that kinda unstable? I'm 215lbs without gear lol
>>
>>874161
80% of kayaks are rated 250-275 lbs
The rest are 5 foot kids kayaks and touring kayaks with 300-500 pound capacity
Buy it and take it on the water a few times
Then just tie your rods and tackle boxes to the yak or to big bouies so you don't lose everything should you tip over
>>
>>874161
$300 can get you a new Sun Dolphin Aruba 10' and it has a capacity of 250 lbs. I doubt you'll be brining 35 lbs of gear, but even then you should be fine for the most part on a calm pond as long as you don't try and stand up or something. You could probably find a nicer one on CL for $300ish.

Middleschool in the 1980s was the best thing ever. You could bring knives and rifles to school and on the bus. In fact if you didn't have a pocket knife, you were useless in school for shop-type classes. And, at lunch we'd plink targets, on the ball fields, with some of the teachers with our rifles or shoot the rabbits or groundhogs and roast them for lunch before returning to class. The worst thing that ever happened was when a chick named Carla chopped 1/4" off her pinky finger while using a saw in shop class.

It really won't be a problem

We were talking about a jon boat. Do you know what a jon boat is? You can pick most of them up with 1 hand.
>>
>>874218
I mean they're nice because they are light, portable, you can actually cover some ground without an engine, and most places you won't have to register them like a boat. Aluminum boats take fucking forever to go anywhere if you are paddling them and you will probably need a trailer.

>>

>I'd be a goner in full clothes
Don't get a kayak if you can't swim in clothes. Period.
>>
>>874218
The biggest negative I've heard about them is having to fuck with reinflating them every time you go out....to the point that several people I've talked to don't take theirs as often as they'd like to.
>>
>>874250
What about a pontoon boat like this:
>>874218
I also have a PFD I can wear with 32lbs of buoyancy
>>
>>874245
You can fly fish for them, baitcast and spinning rod of course as well. Fish is their primary prey, so live bait would do well with them. They also do not snub deadbait or crayfish. When you get them ready for the grill or oven, be wary of the bones. Some people have ways to clean them where the bones don't come with, but I never figured it out.
>>
>>874254
The biggest down side I can see is having to inflate it constantly and hooks are sharp and pointy.
>>
>>874257
Good point on the hooks. Thrashing fish with trebles is bad news. Where id be using it I would never be more than 50 yards from the bank and I think I could probably stand most places. I have no problem getting a nice pump for it. Someone in the reviews said less than 15 min with a high volume manual pump.
>>
>>874230
They sell large "cheap" boats in the orlando bass pro. I think they are like 6 or 8 grand. But come with a trailer. And motor... Ive thought about it but I don't got a truck or anything to haul a boat behind.
>>
>>874265
Those boats at Bass Pro seem overpriced. Even those little green Trackers with no motor or anything. Plus boats, along with all toys like that, lose a bunch of their value the second you put them in the water. The used market is the way to go for boats, they are always the first thing to go when somebody needs money and you can snag them cheap.

And you can haul a little boat on anything. Go to Uhaul and get a quote on a hitch. The trailers don't weigh much either and as long as you load everything right so it's balanced, you don't need an F-350 for a small aluminum boat.

Gosh darnit, I need help, im feeling terrible now.

Im fishing pequest for trout, and I finally find a good spot where the trout are this trip.

Only problem is that they didnt bite!

I threw everything I had on me in their faces. Worms literally scared them sometimes, like if it was floating to them they'd either ignore it like a leaf in the water or they'd actually move away from it.

Same for soft plastic worms

A spinner lure actually got their attention but they only followed it. I would sometimes see them chase but never bite it, but it was never too aggressive and they always lost interest.

I tried some minnow lures and it was even worse.

They would get so up close to me too, like I had one 5 feet infront of me and I danced a worm infront of its face; nothing. It backed off after a while.

Can someone help me in this regard? I spoke with some other fishermen on the river that day and they had the same experiences, even a guy using flies.

If you use anything with treble hooks they can come loose from a fish or snag and hook deeply into things
Catfish have big spikes in their pectoral and dorsal fins
If you have a fishing knife you might drop it and puncture it
Storraige might develop a seam that leaks after inflation
You probably won't drown but I see a lot of scenarios where shit can go wrong
>>
>>874403
I got a feeling it was something about the setting. The fish were active, saw a few fighting a current which was very interesting to see. One literally just stood in the current too. Others would sort of group together ontop of where the current was, where it was a lot slower. They moved around but just weren't hungry for anything.

Can confirm, bought a "fishing" kayak, less than a year later said fuck this bought a 14" aluminum v bottom with trailer 9.9 gas motor and casting deck with foot controlled trolling motor for 500 bucks. It's amazing compared to paddling a kayak around.

>>874260
I can connect to my boat trailer in less than a minute, back the boat in in similar time, and hooks never pierce my aluminum hull.

Yeah you can bring wine coolers, there's plenty of room on the boat. You drive them in your truck that gets county girls wet to the lake, they see your backing skills and bite their lips in sexual frustration.

Rig them up with a bobber and worm so they slay panfish all day, they are miring you pull in bass with finess rigs. They're downing a cooler full of Smirnoff.

"Anon we were trying to come up with a way to thank you for such a fun day on the lake, maybe we can take turns giving you head?"

What a relaxing time on the lake, then some road head in your bench seat truck on the way home.

How about this: http://koti.kapsi.fi/hvartial/dinghy44/dinghy4.htm
>>
>>874797
I remember it about flawlessly
You need 2x2, plywood, a 2x6, and a fuckload of epoxy
You need two of each of the following in 2x2

6 feet one end cut at 45° the other 90°
4 feet one end cut at 45° the other 90°
30.5 inches both ends at 45° from opposite sides (you want a parallelogram not a trapezoid)
20.5 inches both ends 90°
Piece those together so you have half a frame
Then cut 4 pieces 32.5 inches long
One will go between the frame at evert corner (one at the very front, one where the deck meets the bow, one at the bottom rear and one atbthe top rear)

Then for plywood you need a sheet 3x4 feet
Two 6 feet by 2 feet
One 3 feet x 34 inches
And one 3x2 feet
Screw the panels to the frame and screw the 2x6 to the top of the frame where you want a seat, them mix up enough epoxy to just barely cover the inside and let it sit over night
Flip it over in the morning and coat the outside
Let it sit all day then after 12+ hours paint the inside again and in the morning paint the outside again
Let it sit a few days and youre done

I'm 95% sure that's how it went

Try breeding worms. It is easy as fuck if you aren't trying to go commercial. And they are great bait mate
>>
(Accidentally posted this in the old thread)

Dumb question: I have only ever tried saltwater fishing (trout, cod, gar). So i wanna try something different, but the good fishing lakes around me require a lake specific permit, which Im not interested in paying for.
So my question is, could I go looking for small unstocked ponds that aren't ever fished and still expect to find fish there, or is the big proper lakes the only way to go?
>>
>>874825
Where there's food there's fish is what I've been told. Unless it's hypoxic or something. The fish might be turbo dinks though. If you don't get anything with normal bass gear go as small as possible, like a size 12-22 hook with a chunk of Nightcrawler
>>
>>874825
Nothing I fish is really stocked. If you find spot that isn't pressured by other anglers, it will probably be better than the stocked lakes.
>>
>>874794
I'm not taking about a coracle, I'm talking about a real boat, 18' bass boat.
>>
>>874850

>>
>>874837
>>874839
How does the size of the water factor in? Some of the ponds I have in mind are hardly 20m across

>If you don't get anything with normal bass gear go as small as possible, like a size 12-22 hook with a chunk of Nightcrawler

We don't have freshwater bass species in this part of the world I think, so if anything ill look for either perch or pike.
>>
>>874859
I once got a 33 inch pike in a creek 30 feet wide and 10 feet deep with chocolate milk for bait
>>
>>874873

>>
>>874793
Yeah minnows might be hard to breed , will have to keep restocking with those, but i think shrimbs must be easy to breed and grow and they are a good bait too.

As for worms yea they are easy to breed but i dont think they work well with "deep" water fishing for predators.
>>
>>874859
In my experience, it only takes a couple acres of healthy water to produce really big bass.

I fished this tiny puddle a few months back because I was curious. It was probably 1/4 acre and there were a ton if 10" bass in there. I wouldn't be suprised to find a couple 16" fish.

Depends on the species too. Carp can get huge in little ponds. Catfish can get fairly large too. Pond I fished as a kid was 300' by 100' and I got a 9lb carp out of there.

>>
>>874923
>tfw can't find a 6 ft aluminum dinghy
Is this not something there is demand for? seems to be completely nonexistent.
>>
>>874937
That's not the problem, I can carry it while walking down stairs fine. The problem is taking the turns on the stairs where i have to lift it over the railing and have 3/4ths of it sticking off the 3rd story ledge while I try to get around to the next flight.

Definitely a good idea though, I might just start wrapping it in a blanket so all I have to do is throw it on my roof and strap it down. I'm getting tired of using pool noodles for my roof padding, I get a lot of weird looks and if theres any wind getting the yak up there before they blow off is impossible.

Might try a piece of carpet or something, I don't know.

For breeding your own you buy them by the pound off the internet. The two best species are red worms (Eisenia fetida) and euro nightcrawlers (Eisenia hortensis). Don't bother with African nightcrawlers, they are prone to disease. I've been growin worms since before I started fishing lol

I dig for my own worms. Here in florida just find an area with dark muck. And shoot like 1 foot away from the watery part. And dig like 10 inches. And they will be squirming around. I get maybe 2 dozen. I have some stored now.. But gonna go fishing here soon and use them up. A few already died. Keeping worms is a pita. They need like 50 degree tempature because above 70s they get dehydrated..

You stick a steel rod into one of the slots in an extension cord, stick it in damp dirt, plug it in, and nightcrawlers will start wiggling out of the dirt within maybe a 10' or 20' diameter. Haven't done it since I was a kid.
>>

Ehh, you probably shouldn't do it barefoot.

When we were kids, I did the soapy water trick much more often. Worked well a couple hours after it rains when the dirt is moiste. Put a squirt of dish soap in a 5gal bucket of water and pour it over a patch of dirt. You will get a bunch of em. If the ground is dry, you can soak it with the hose a few hours prior to draw the worms a little shallower.

As there arent really basements down here in florida. Lol i thought about trying to find a metal dish with a lid on it. And digging a hole in my yard and putting the worms in that and dropping them in the hole. Idk tho may just stick to digging them up the day before.
>>
>>875136
Im in California, I have year round outdoor worm farms of several different species. Primarily done to produce compost for plants and remediate waste materials. But I have tens of thousands of worms probably. For ~40-50 bucks, some patience, and a lack of mental retardation you could have your own infinite supply of bait. If anyone has questions hit me with it, I've dealt with it all.
>>
>>875149
Do you worm charm? And if so. How the fuck do I do it? I know where to find them.. But they are such a pita to extract.
>>
>>875148
Here is an idea
Cut a piece of turf out of your lawn the size of a big tupperwear thing
Keep the turf in tact
Dig a hole that perfectly encapsulates the tupperwear thing
(I mean the big 1x2x3 foot ones for storraige)
Put the removed dirt back in there plus some worm food
Have it stand 2 inches proud of the top of the turf then put the layer of turf you removed on top
That will keep it nice and cool but readily available right?
Pull off the turf, open the lid, worms
Put the lid back and the turf and your worms are protected
Yeah?

Jesus Christ, why do retards pole fish at all? Get a REAL rod, aka one with rod rings and a reel. Pole fishing is a special kind of stupid.
>>
>>875161
Around my house its all sand. Its about dry around 15 inches down. Doesn't get cool and damp until then. So they need to go pretty deep... I think storing them in my concrete floor and making sure they have water is gonna have to do..
>>
>>875164
Maybe just buy some worms that can handle some heat and farm those?
>>875163
You misread. Don't worry anyone could
I'm arguing against a 40 foot pole, its a 100 dollar joke at worst and an over priced toy at best
But there are times a shorter pole (13-20 feet) is handy
Example- crappie fishing
You can work a marabou jig vertically around cover from far enough away to not spook the fish and not having to cast but instead just give a flick for micro fishing is convenient
Pole fishing has its place, but only in a range of lengths
Too short and you spook fish
Too long and you lose precision
10-12 feet is a little short and 18-20 feet starts getting shaky
A 16 foot pole is perfect imo
On that same note

Don't be discouraged - Florida is extremely tricky due to humidity, temperature, etc. If outdoors, be sure they are on the side of your house that has the least sun exposure. If I were you I would try digging down a couple feet and burying a plastic tub with a bit of drainage into the ground. Leave it an inch or two above ground so you can apply a lid. Cut a 4in x 7in hole in the lid of the tub and epoxy or glue a section of window screen over it to keep critters out. Keep the medium inside moist, and cover with a few sheets of soaked newspaper

Actually, the most critical component is just the production of vibration. Other people will use a wood stake and a chainsaw. They put the chainsaw on the stake and rev the engine.

So, MTB sent me something I truly would never buy myself, a deep diving crank. How do they not snag and get lost on the first cast?
>>
>>875287
Fish them in deep water
I know some bridges that a deep diving crank is the only way to fish them from shore
>>
I dont know about u guys but i use worms as surfcasting bait from the beach or shallow vertical fishing from the boat, but for deeper water hunting for predators a live shrimp is a much better lure, thats why i am asking , anyonw managed to breed and grow brine shrimps to a good size for bait? How sustainable is it
>>

thanks, any specific lures you would recommend?

Most places are very strict about not fishing from bridges and you will get a ticket if you do for good reason
Lots of people get hit every year fishing from bridges and roads

Unless you have a boat there's really no point in buying anything that will dive >4'

Case Plastics makes a soft-plastic called a Wacky Jack like that but with long taper on each end. I've had pretty good luck with them.
>>
>>875332
Wacky rigged I'm assuming?
>>
>>875336
Yeah. My first success with senkos and wacky rigging was back in May while fishing up in PA. Lots of smallies and largemouth were caught with Yamamoto Senkos. The Watermelon/Orange ones with lots of red and copper fleck were my biggest producer.

There is a shop near Raystown Lake that actually has a lot of old-but-not-super-old stuff which included some bags of those Wacky Jacks and some Gitzit-esque tubes also made by Case. Some of the bags still had Case's address as somewhere in Virginia but the newer looking bags had them in Michigan somewhere if I remember right (not at home to check). I actually picked up a couple of old Heddon Swayback Spooks from one of their bargain bins of hard baits.

Anyway the only way I've fished these kinds of baits successfully has been with wacky rigged on weighted hooks. I think the ones i'm using are weedless VMC wacky hooks in either 1/8 or 1/16 oz. Just something to help them drop a little faster and add more weight to feel when twitching the rod tip.
>>
>>875287
Even from shore, you can get away with it in certain spots. I have one lake where I fish from these rocks maybe 6' above the water so the angle is sharp enough that it will make deep diving cranks come towards the surface when they get close to shore.

Also the long lips on them help to keep the hooks off the bottom. The lip will hit any snags before hooks do most of the time.

Aluminum? Why? Is the entire rod aliminum? If so, I wouldn't do it because aluminum will crack way before some springy steel if they were making a rod from metal for some reason. There are a million other telescoping and 4+ pc travel rods made of normal materials.

Most species of worm migrate only 3 yards a year BUT that is only in favorable conditions. Basically if you don't keep it moist enough or there is not enough organic matter they will surface and try to get as far away as possible in a survival effort. Contrary to popular assumption the worms that are easily cultivated are all composting worms, NOT earthworms. The difference is that compost worms (what you will need) use organic matter NOT soil as a habitat. Imagine the top 6 inches of a forest floor covered in decaying leaves and other materials. Earthworms make great bait but they are not breedable in captivity because;
>their life cycle is very long and some even take 5+ years from birth to sexual maturity. Composting worms reach maturity in a month or so
>they don't like tolerate enclosed spaces as in the wild they burrow vertical shafts up to 20 feet or deeper. Composting worms stay in the top 18 inches of medium almost 100% of the time

So here's what I'd recommend;
>Dig a trench. You want a solid amount or surface area, go for at least 3sq ft, more would be better.
>backfill with a mix of 40% autumn leaves, 40% shredded cardboard, 10% fruit and vegetable scraps, 5% soil, 5% sand (or gardening lime, the important part is that it is gritty). Mix well
>Moisten until a few drops come out when you squeeze a handful of medium
>Walk away and leave it alone for 2 weeks
>make sure to check the moisture level and make sure it is as described above. If not, adjust it.
>add worms on top. Do not bury them they will naturally want to dig down.
>DO NOT FEED for the first 48 hours
>after this time period add fruit/veg scraps or a blender processed feed mix of 25%wheat flour, 25% oats, 25%cornmeal, 20% coffee grounds, 5% calcium source (egg shell, oyster shell, or garden lime)
>DO NOT cover the entire surface with food. At most, cover half.

Bass like this, right around 14", are always fun to catch despite not being huge (provided you aren't using heavy tackle). They will hit all sorts of lures and they normally fight good.

>>
>>875708
Yeah that's like what I had up north most places and they were a blast on 4lb or 6lb mono.

Went to a different lake because wind, the second one is a sneky lek I haven't been to in months. Right when I got there, threw an inline spinner along the grass. Big snek, probably 20"-22" and fat, came chasing after it. Then it saw me and dipped. Those things are skittish.
>>
>>875299
shrimps are harder than minnows to raise, they're extremely sensetive and you need a lot of equipment and chemicals in the right amounts to keep their water habitable.
>>
>>875722
I use 6lb spider wire braid in camo color and never bother with a leader. The no stretch material makes it a lot easier to set the hook with the UL rod. And the camo color is invisible to my eye underwater. My reel for this has max 4lb drag and I set it low. It's a total blast. And bigger bass will hit tiny baits. I had a 2-3 pounder hit my 1.5in minnow swim jig and fight me for a couple minutes

Kek, I saw that coming. Hooks are overpriced for what they are. The cheapest 3/0 worm hooks at most retailers are Eagle Claws for ~$3 for a 5pk. But I think that price is split between paying for the brand and paying the retailer. Bass Pro has bulk packs of their store brand hooks for really cheap comparitively. Only problem is they purposely don't carry the popular sizes so you are stuck paying $7 for a 6pk of Gamakatsus.
>>
>>875762

>$1.50
Nah man, did you read what I wrote? Thin ass Eagle Claws are $3 for a 5pk of 3/0 worm hooks. 60¢ is a lot for that shitty piece of wire. Mid-grade hooks like Gamakatsu or VMC end up at 80¢ to $1 per hook, and higher end hooks are close to $2 per hook.

I did admit though, the retailer and the brand both need to make something on these little hooks, and after shipping and packaging and overhead, it wouldn't be worth it to sell them for a 10¢ profit.

I'm talking about plain 1/0 to 5/0 worm hooks, nothing special. I'm sure you can get them for much, much cheaper buying in bulk online but the recreatonal fisherman doesn't need 300 2/0 worm hooks at once.
>>
>>875771
Pretty sure Im aware of the price.. I bought 4 packs at walmart yesterday and they were 1.50. regardless, my point is that getting them for that cheap compared to what it would take to get anything handmade even close to as good without experience is silly

I agree with that. Depending what you are fishing for, that is a lot of weight on a thin wire so it might be better left to the pros. I still think hooks are overpriced for what they are, but even on a bad weekend with lots of snags, I might lose $5 worth of hooks. Not enough to make me attempt to build my own.

I do like seeing the homemade stuff as long as the anons making it aren't trying to convince themselves that they are the exact same thing you get at Bass Pro.

And I think even at Walmart, Eagle Claws still run like $2.47 for the 5pk of worm hooks. The one thing they got the best pricing on is the lead bullet weights at 98¢ (which is still way more than they are worth) because Bass Pro only sells their stupid expensive painted ones in-store and cost like 4 times as much.

I cab understand this if you are fishing for food and get no money ever
But if you're a weekend warrior who does catch and release you have to think: is it worth it to Save a little money on a hook by skimping on materials and spending time crafting them when you could instead buy hooks AND the hooks will do more damage to the fish because its flat (make bigger holes)

>the hooks will do more damage to the fish because its flat (make bigger holes)
This. Personally I believe in minimizing the impact on the fish and fishery. I wouldn't use these unless catching for sustenance.
>>875786
I don't see losing $5 in hooks as a problem personally. Almost any hobby has some maintenance costs associated with it. It's better than losing 5x$20 crank baits in a weekend. If I'm gonna take the time to handcraft something to fish with it is going to be
>flies
>inline spinners
>hand carved wood lures
IDK, seems more efficient to use my time to do stuff like that. Hooks are cheap per unit so there is very little reason in my world to spend time on it.

>>875799
I disagree. I work 40-60hrs a week. Posting on 4chan feels like leisure, hook crafting would probably feel like more work. At least with the list I gave above, there is a heavy aspect of creativity to them. To each their own.

Yeah that's why I kinda prefaced it with that whole point. But when I'm running 20lb braid to a 12lb flouro leader and catching 14" bass, it hasn't failed me.

If I were right at the limit, like 6lb mono to a 6lb flouro leader and catching 4lb+ bass all day, there would probably be a couple lost fish at the surgeon's loop in the flouro.

I have a 3600 with some different compartments, but most places only sell basic 3700 size boxes. I'm sure you can order them online, but I would rather just customize it myself exactly how I need it. Channel cats?

Idk about trot lines, but for channel cats it's bretty simple. Chicken liver, nightcrawlers, dead baitfish will all work. Stick em on whatever hook and get it out to the bottom. If you don't get any bites within 10 or 15 minutes, change spots until you find em.

If you plan on using commercial bait, stay away from the dough bait. It sucks. Dip bait (or punch bait) works so much better. Pic related. Find the hooks or rigd for dip bait and coat those fuckers with the stuff. I normally get the ones with the treble hooks that have a sponge over them and then a foam or rubber tube right above the hook. I will put a stick in the end of the tube, jam it into the jar, swirl it around until it's coated, and then pull it out by the line. That way you don't have to even touch the bait. Trying to form those dough balls is awful and your hands will smell for days.

The back said it's model number is 3750. I also usually use a couple of these smaller 3650's if I only need a few baits and don't need my whole tackle box
>>
>>875929
Ok, that's a 3700 size then. Those are the larger ones and 3600s are the medium. But then you will see like 3702, 3650, etc and those are just kinda model numbers for the designs of the compartments.

That's a good setup in that one. They still need more customization sometimes tho. And even Bass Pro is really limited with what they sell. For 3700 size boxes, they have the ones with horizontal slots and I think ones with vertical. Not a good selection. And the pricing is awful, I think they want around $10 for regular Plano brand boxes and $8 for the Bass Pro brands. I bought that 3600 with the cool compartments from Walmart for like $2.50.

But that's how Bass Pro gets ya. Most of their stuff is competitive, but they rape you on the little stuff you really need like their $5 packs of lead weights. They cost 5x as much as the regular ones they sell everywhere else because they are painted black!
>>

I got about $50 bucks worth of weights in my cart rn but its definitely worth it considering if I got the same amount and kind of weights at the store it would be ~$325. plus over $40 is free shipping which isnt bad for a box with 65 sinkers in there. I imagine it should last me a couple years
