I was plaNning on doing the same but for about a month earlier this year until i had to take a few extra courses last semester.
From my research several things stood out
>west highland way
>isle of Skye
>rent a bicycle and ride around islay
>Edinburgh
Just some ideas. Good luck with your trip. Mine is postponed until i get accepted into grad school.

thanks mate, my plan currently is hiking around Skye.
but getting there from Glasgow is pretty expensive and time-consuming so I'm still looking into that. Islay was on my list but the island itself looks pretty boring on google maps, Only the distillery's seems to make it worth.
What are the camping laws like there? Can you set up a fire and a tent anywhere in the Highlands?
