Daily reminder that Colorado is shit for outdoors since all the normies moved in. How is your state doing for /out/ since commiefornians started mass migrating?

AZ gun laws keep getting better. 3 hr quad ride this morning and didn't see anybody. Open carry .38 all day.

Found an awesome swimming hole last weekend, will be expolting that for the rest of summer.

Hiking group at work goes out every wednesday so similar interests.

Gun guys at work like to show up and target shoot together.

Lived here for many years straight now and still loving it.

I haven't been to Hanging Lake in 15 years. Last few times I tried I had to wait for a parking spot and then walk in a line of a couple hundred people to get up the trail.

It IS getting more crowded. Especially in the summer. I'm in Leadville, I've never seen this many tourists in the 30 years I've lived here. Also our property values are booming for the first time since the 80's.

I'm pretty sure those aren't tourists.
Probably "locals."

you know, people from some whole other state that just moved to Glenwood or Gypsum or some such place and heard about the cool secret place all the locals go. But the real locals don't go there anymore, it's just the new "locals" crowding the shit out of it.

Actually, not uncommon in AZ.

Did this same hike again last Wed.
>>
>>816988
ah yeah.
I'm not certain either town really has any locals any more.

they've been unaffordable for families to live in as long as I can recall. Now you get 'local' status for living in employee housing and low-income trailer parks for more than three years in a row.

any more our resort towns are owned by out of state money and mostly staffed by out of state labor. Not a representative example of true coloradans.

Not to say people from Colorado don't suck, just that those might not have been people from Colorado.

Montana is holding up...still less than a million people in the 4th largest state...wilderness second to none in the lower 48.

Scratch that...its terrible...dont move here.

I was also in Louisville for a month. There were some nice folks there. Boulderites were the worst of the bunch though. I hated going to Boulder unless it was for a hike up the Flatirons.

I've got a question, I worked for Vail at Beaver Creek, are they as shady as it seems? Seriously, under the fancy exterior it seemed badly mismanaged and at times really sketchy. The HR lady at orientation was way too excited to be there like she was hiding something and there was a lot of corporate bullshit that looked like serious ass covering to me. One of my coworkers, who was one of the nicest people I met up there got seriously injured on the job and she's told me that she's still fighting with them to get the workers comp she deserves. It was totally their fault too, this motor to this huge rack we had wasn't being maintained properly and had no emergency break. One night, as she was operating it, a gear stripped and the entire thing fell on her.
They're giving her the run-around about it because they don't want to pay for her physical therapy. It's messed up.

Love shooting small game and eating fresh. Usually no one there during regular weekends but if it's a holiday I just park my truck at a camp spot and hike for a while into the wilderness.

Hawaii here. The mountain trails have become so overused that erosion has made using ropes mandatory for both climbing and descending. That creates traffic jams above and below the ropes any time you want to climb a mountain any time other than in the middle of a work day.

And valley trails are literal mudbaths for miles on end.

Plus, most hikes worth doing require trespassing on private or Board of Water Supply land, and a lot of them have started hiring security guards or placing police there, with $600 fines.

So, I've found that the amount of hiking I have been doing has really dropped this past year.
>>
>>820636
I would think hawaii was best for ocean shit, like diving, paddleboard, canoe, kayak, boating, fishing. not so much hiking, if you wanna hike, move somewhere where there is miles and miles of untouched land. like the midwest.
>>
>>820584
1v1 me fgt
>>
>>820648
>hiking on flat land
Yeah maybe if you hate fun
>>
>>820648
Eh...

>diving
Not something you should be doing alone, plus I don't have a truck to transport gear. (Renting a parking space here costs as much as renting an apartment in a lot of mainland cities.)

>canoeing, kayaking
Renting them can be fun, but there isn't really anywhere to go with them beside a couple of small (2-4 acre) non-restricted islands.

>paddleboarding
They are expensive to rent and there are only a few bays with calm enough water for this. It seems like a fun thing to do once as a tourist, but not as a hobby.

>boating, fishing
Chartering a boat to take you out into unrestricted waters so you can fish is fucking expensive.

Snorkeling is good, but there are only a few spots on Oahu were the reef is healthy enough to be really beautiful, and those areas are busy enough that it doesn't really feel /out/.

So, if you want any hope of getting away from people, you have to climb a mountain that is steep enough that the challenge keeps the number of people on it down.
>>
>>816807

Libs and Californians don't know where to go /out/ and crowd up places that were already to crowded. If you think because Californians are moving to Colorado in droves and go /out/ all over the fucking state and of all of the fucking rocky mountains your either not from here, or you don't know how to /out/.

There's still 3/4's of the state not ridden with Californians all of which has amazing /out/ land they couldn't even get to with there Prius's and smart cars.

Bees are friendly unless you are a threat. Don't be afraid of bees. Big bees dont even sting, they'll just bump into you (carpenter bees)

What you should be scared of are mud dobbers, wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets. Other various names for the little shithead things that sting you if you just look at 'em wrong. But they're everywhere. I'm 20 and have been stung only 4 times in my whole life.

Tobacco spit/juice heals stings, FYI

California would be great without the entire country moving here shitting it up and then moving away claiming to be from California.
>>
>>823052
literally any incarnation of california would be great if you got rid of the californians. the place could be annexed and populated by saudi-vietnamese bosniaks and it would be an improvement

I guess you don't like in n out, chipotle, movies, TV, or all the technologic advancements from silicon valley.

there are 40 million people in CA, 39.999 million of them aren't responsible for anything good

the saudi-vietnamese bosniaks can keep In-N-Out open

We're coming.

>How is your state doing for /out/ since commiefornians started mass migrating?
I come from and live in Southern Illinois

We don't have any trouble with Californians coming over, because everyone my age who has a future is leaving for places, including California.

As far as /out/ is concerned, I can guarantee you that Colorado is a relative godsend.

None of you can stand each other, that's part of why you leave and ruin other places. I know you don't mean it but you are already tainted. Just make the sacrifice for the benefits of everyone else and just stay in California

Its summer... tourist season. I go to rosevelt national park where you can backpack into the woods. More deer than people. I bet your too pussy for that though.

All this California hate in this thread, feels bad man

Just moved to Washington from California for medical school. Went on a couple hikes the other day and the trails were gorgeous. I come from a town near the Sequoias so I've done a lot of hiking around that area, none of it compared to these trails. Was a little disappointed to find that mexicans and white trash still trash the place like they do in california, ended up picking up a lot of it and was rewarded by finding a really nice flashlight someone had lost.
