Alrighty
>he tells me to stand
>I've been laying down so long my legs are stiff
>he asks what I was doing in his shelter
>"I was just curious"
>he stares at me for a bit and then goes inside
>"I've got nowt to share" he says
>I moved on and eventually set up camp in a random spot not far from his
(The following is the conversation the best I can remember)
>"what are you doing?" He said
>"you seem lonely"
>"I like it, why do you think I'm out here"
>"I don't know" -- "you don't own this place, you know"
>"nobody does" -- "whatchu got in that bag?"
>"toys, a blanket, a sketchbook"
>"you draw? Lemme see"
>I hand him the sketchbook he stares at each page for about a minute
>"I can hell you with this, if you help me" he said, putting out his hand without looking up -- "pencil, man, something"
>as I hand him the pencil, I ask him what his name is
>"nemo" (this was before the film)

>"nemo, why nemo?"
>he scribbles notes in the sketchbook, "you like books, boy?"
>"yeah, I got some in my bag" -- "hey whatchu writin'?"
>"you ever read the Odyssey? There's a hero in the story called Ulysses, and he does all sorts of things" -- "once, he was fightin' this one-eyed monster, and he was trying to escape. The monster asked what his name was and the hero said it was 'Nemo', which means nobody. And I like that"
>"that's really cool, my name isn't-"
>he interrupted me by tearing out a page of the sketchbook
>"hey! What are you doin'!"
>still without looking up, he said, "it was all wrong. Too much to fix" -- "didn't you say you got books in your bag?"
>>730538
>I dumped my books on the ground
>meaningless children's fantasy
>"you don't dump books on the ground, boy. You gotta treat em like a bible. Pick em up and stack em next to mine, that's how you'll help me. Keep bringin me books, too."
>"all you did for me was scribble all over my sketchbook and tear out pages"
>"I'm helping you, this way you don't get sick or die"
>after a bit of silence, I sit down
>"why are you out here?" I ask, "aren't your parents worried?"
>"aren't yours?"
I'll make them shorter so I can post faster
>"my parents don't care about me"
>"neither do mine"
>he went inside his shelter with my sketchbook
>soon poking out his head to ask if I was coming
>he gave me berries as he skinned the rabbits
*the shelter was fairly large, he could stand straight up and take a few paces around*
>he told me stories from old books and taught me things about the woods
>I brought him books from the library by his request and he conditioned me for the natural world in exchange

>I left Lupus with Nemo, saying he escaped

Oh man i was expecting some coming-of-age drama
>>730553
>I visited my dad every other weekend, seeing Nemo of course
>one time I had returned the forest was being cleared for some bullshit
>his shelter hadn't been cleared yet but both Nemo and Lupus were gone
>I went to my room and slammed the door
>Nemo was at the fucking window (second floor)
