not a gift. but a week ago I bought some fur from a local store that sells leather and fur and generally outdoorsman stuff. 17$ for a bag of miscellaneous fur scraps. I picked up muskrat although I had wanted fox because it seemed like the best of what was available. Anyway I stitched together the collar here on my hudson's bay camp coat. there wasn't enough black to do the whole collar so I used dark brown on the collar edges. The whole thing with the coat was natural materials so it doesn't singe easily next to a fire.

I did get a new 4 piece fly rod to replace my old workhorse which was on it's last legs

Also just for clarity, Wool and Alpaca fiber are both hypoallergenic, water resistant and fire resistant but if you want a really fine fur for clothes then you need to look at rodents and lose those benefits.

I got a 10L compression sack for my fleece sleebin bag so I don't have to wrap it in a trash bag or risk getting it dirty and soiled when hiking to camp. It fits perfectly!

How do you like fleece over synthetic or down? What temp would you say you can get down to?

Also, fleece doesn't cut wind. A Tyvek outer layer would still breathe, but trap more warmth and take very little extra space.

The fleece is actually synthetic, it's polyester polar fleece sorta thing but I get what you're saying, it's not a stuffed sleeping bag. I have a heavier synthetic mummy bag for cold weather. The fleece is just for hot weather camping, indoor camping (crashing on cots/in basements/etc) and for *really* cold weather I use it in my mummy bag for a combined god-tier comfiness.

I use a hammock that has an fitted outer tarp which i use as my wind break when needed. I got it covered brah
