What's your favorite piece of equipment/gear/clothing/etc? For me it has to be my Golite quilt. Packs lights, packs small, is incredibly toasty, and really nice quality. Got turned on to the idea of quilts or backless sleeping bags after reading Andrew Skurka's hiking guide. Fucking love it, the space and weight saving plus how damn warm it is are fantastic. Golite sold stuff cheap as hell before they went out of business too so that was another plus. Only complaint is no hood, but a hat fixes that. What about y'all?

Always wanted a CRF250, I got out of riding about 10 years ago. My go to bike then was an XR250 that I loved. Learned to ride on a 1980 XL185. Always been a fan of the 4 stroke Hondas.

My life and schedule now doesn't really afford me much time to ride. Haven't got on my XR since college more than 10 years ago.

Go lite is great for items you will only use a few times but after that their products are very flimsy and will disintegrate before your eyes. That's why they went out of business, that and their products were not returnable at their stores
>>
Mines a leatherman surge. Ive found most gear that i actually use is a dime a dozen except for multitools

Looking for a good camping/fishing bag for next year though

Dude screw work.
Do what you actually love, if you want a job you will always get one.
Get back on a bike!
2017 CRF450R will have electric start + other upgrades. Get that or a WR450f.
On your death bed, i guarantee you you wont say "I wish I worked 1 more day, my boss needed that extra vacation home". You'll say "I wish I did what I enjoyed more!".

I guess if I couldn't choose any "hardware" I´d probably say it´s the Woolpower Full Zip jacket, or any other of my go-to pieces... but this I like a LOT.

This is my hammock. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

My hammock is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

My hammock, without me, is useless. Without my hammock, I am useless.

I have the time to ride, I just use that time for my other hobbies. I golf, backpack hammock camp, ski, wakeboard, have a RV I use, hunt, fish, ect ect.... on top of a full time job, wife, kids, and a house to take care of.

Just not much time left for a bike.

And also, I work for a non-profit that doesn't really have a big wig boss. The board of directors are all not paid, and my boss makes about the same as I do since technically he has a lower level of training, but does a different job than me.

Haven't had that problem. Bag has held up for dozens of trips as has the few clothing items I have from them.

Easy (brand) windbreaker with a removable liner. It's like three jackets in one: Waterproof, warm, warm and waterproof. Top unf.

Icebreaker Realfleece! I just wish they still made the Kodiak in 320gm weight, I've worn out the elbows in mine
>>
I got a rain jacket from Kathmandu that folds up into a little pocket. It's in my backpack all the time when i'm not /out/, which means I wear it a lot at uni during winter as well as when /out/. It weighs almost nothing and has kept me well and dry many a time.

Probably my Kimber Montana 7-08, but I hunt a lot. Have used it against whitetail, mule deer, blacktail, elk, caribou, reindeer, sea otters, wolves, a black bear...a seal or two. Fuck, it does it all.

That or my kayak but I don't even know what brand or model it is I found it washed up on a rock beach.

Man I miss GoLite.

Had a tent of theirs it was great until a bear shredded it. my. My brother has one of their down jackets and it is better and smarter made than anything currently on the market.
>>

Yeah pretty similar. The big difference I see is the shape, in that quilts tend to be mummy shaped and woobies are just big rectangular blankets.

Both can be had wearable. My JRB quilt has armholes and there is an optional hood that can button into it.

Arisaka made in 1941. Surplussed after the war, bastardized by somebody else before I got it. .30-06 with a fixed 6x scope. Shoots MOA or better at 150 yards when I use homerolled ammo. Makes deer fall down when I tell it to. Had it since 1985.
