/out/, what are some cool outdoor hobbies you could get into by yourself? Preferably that don't require being driven to.

pic unrelated since there's no wind here

Depends entirely where you live and what kind of /out/doors you have within reach. Since transportation seems to be an issue for you, maybe some sort of cycling would empower this more (cross country, road biking, bike touring, DH, etc.)

Archery for sure, (recurve). After the initial investment of the bow 100-200$ and say 6 arrows 50$, you don't have to spend any more.

You can practice all you want innawoods, you can hunt with it once you've practiced enough and you feel a bit safer with it by your side.

Furthermore as a time killer innawoods you can learn to make arrows.

Just be sure to find a decent stump or a hill you know you won't lose your arrows on.

I live in the Central Valley in arizona, there are some alright hiking trails (that need to be driven to) and then a couple of grassy parks within walking/cycling distance, otherwise it's just desert, there's not really any innawoods in the traditional /out/ sense.

I protect and spread populations of endangered plants for one, it's pretty rewarding to see a population you started with some cuttings/seeds start to thrive.

Do you have any pictures?

sure.

here's some Cymbalaria muralis, I spread it to the area with some seeds from my garden a few years ago, it's all over the place now.

this Rhododendron ponticum colony was actually started by my granddad.

seedlings started appearing for the first time this year, it's the first time R. ponticum seeds naturally in my country.

it isn't actually a native plant though, atleast, it wasn't 50 years ago.

no worries, it isn't invasive.

I couldn't find a picture showing the entire colony of this one, just an individual flower.

it's a colony of about 70< Dactylorhiza sp, started it in the middle of a city on a patch of grass near a ditch with a single seedpod 10 years ago.
>>
>>640650
nevermind, I found a better picture.

it still doesn't show all of them, but it's better than a single flower.

I live in Phoenix, AZ. If you don't have solid transportation just take buses to the various hiking routes. Don't know if you're in the area, but Papago Peaks is a great place to hike/explore, and there are routes up to the zoo which is nearby.

Slacklining is pretty fun and it's good exercise and balance training. Lines can be kind of expensive, like $50-$100, but after that all you need is two good trees and you're set.

Another good suggestion.

What's your budget for gear/equipment?
What interests you? What experiences do you have that you can build on, or what skills would you like to build through a hobby? Any other hobbies you enjoy that can be coupled with another hobby?

Loads of options out there for solo recreation.
Being an adrenaline junky, things like hiking and birdwatching aren't exciting enough for me, so I opted for motorsports, rodeo, firearms.

Op for a poorfag like you I suggest masterbating into ant hills.

A very cheap hobby that requiers no gear.
