Does anyone have any experience or info on the Hults Bruk Splitting Axe?
Looks handy for its size, and I like that it's able to split better than a regular axe, but I'm not sure if it's worth the weight.

Did someone say worth the weight?

Won't really be good for anything but splitting small, dry logs into kindling.
Expecting my gransfors bruks small forest axe to come in today. Will post follow up

well it's not actually that heavy, but a little heavier than a normal hatchet.
what i'm thinking is that it is way better for splitting than lets say the gransfors bruk small forest axe, but i can't find any videos of it being used otherwise, ie chopping down small trees and limbing. i'm sure it can do it just fine since it's a sharp hatchet edge, but i wanna see it in action
i think it could be a great all around tool since it has a big advantage over a regular hatchet
Our king wranglerstar made a comparison video of this and a traditional splitting maul. He concluded this thing isn't as good as a maul for splitting and not as good as a forest axe for chopping and bushcrafting.

i can't find that video for some reason, can anyone post a link?

that wasn't the axe we're talking about. this is a smaller 3 pound 20 inch long hults bruk. it's more like a hatchet

its not just about sharpness ,the wedge and bevel also come into play, splitting axes generally have wider wedges to drive the wood apart to cause a split this however prevents from biting into wood as easily compared tp axes with less of a wedge weaning you'll take more swings and have less depths to your chips and the heavier head will tire you out faster,id say a forest axe would be better as chopping down a tree and sizing it is the harder task rather than splitting it once you've proportioned it.
okay so can anyone find any video of this being used

thanks but i don't need a lecture about axes i collect them and use them daily

why dont you search for one yourself retard.
That thing's sooo small. A 2lb maul? On a handle shorter than a boy's axe? Probably can't split much better than a hatchet.

Wow... just wow. You're not satisfied with anything, are you?

>wah wah I'm too lazy to look shit up myself and the advice other people provided is contrary to what I want to hear
Go to arfcom, they'll love you there.
