Rock towers are common in Iceland. Built by Vikings for navigation. They are more than one rock wide though. Tourists always build shitty gay ones and ruin the mystique of finding the real ones.

Don't make cairns unless you are marking something for other hikers. They are meant to signal things as trail markers. Cairns aren't for art you autist.

BTW if you see cairns set up as artwork, do everyone a favor and smash the fuckers.

Cairns are fine if they serve a purpose such as making a trail above the treeline or if they do in fact mark something significant such as a grave or summit. It shouldn't be art
