Ok, out. I need some advice.

I have recently inherited a significant amount of money. Enough to retire in style.

I want to live somewhere civilized with a mild but not hot climate and close to or in an area that offers great outdoor options.

I love water and mountains.

I was thinking about Lake Tahoe.

Is that a good or bad idea? I'm open to suggestions.

I'd retire to Northern California if I were you. Eureka or a place near Shasta. Absolutely amazing weather and sights but less crowded than Tahoe during the summer.
