Gonna be hiking across Zion this September and just wondering what I should pack that's the bare minimum. Gonna be out there for 8 days, hiking around 20 miles a day more or less. Not gonna be bringing a tent.

you're going to need a bivvy bag or something to keep the scorpions and snakes off you.

Hope you've got this planned out. Zion isn't the first place that pops into my mind when I think of a trip like this. Don't get me wrong, Zion is gorgeous, but Canyonlands or Grand Staircase pops into my mind moreso for this kind of journey. Anyway, if you do this in Zion, I would strongly suggest trekking poles. There will be a lot of elevation change, and if you hike the Virgin River through the Zion Narrows they will make your trip so much easier. Make sure you have layered clothing, it will start getting cool at nite there in mid September. I don't think a hike from Zion Canyon to the Kolob Canyons section is feasible, but Kolob Section is more backcountry with far fewer people. Curious if you have been to Zion before? Most of the canyons there are technical.
