No one here has anything to say about chaga?

If you mix it with licorice root tea there's some sort of sensory synergy that tastes amazing. I'm in zone 6A in the southeast, friends find it regularly up on the Blue Ridge Parkway above 5000ft. I've never looked for it, but I do trade reishi for it occasionally.

Used to be big into it, the tea isn't tasty enough to enjoy without the need to do so. And heart disease will kill me before any cancer finds a good hold in my body. There's good evidence it's healthy based on lifespan of tribal peoples.

I use chaga all the time. I have yet to find it growing as low birch in my area.

Also never had it before, but pretty much every tree nearby is white birch. I may grab a small sample next time I'm out.

i love how the more times you boil a single root the sweeter it gets

definitely has a nutty flavor, almost chocolatey at times

Please make acquaintance with how to properly harvest chaga before you do, all you idiots are going to render it extinct.
Chaga has little to no therapeutic effects when it's too young, don't just read one guide on this.

Technically its more like mycellium. It's safe to harvest naturally because that's the only way to get it as far as i know. Its rare like truffles, can't really farm it.

Make sure you do research on how to properly harvest it so we don't run out of this precious cancer killing fire starting commodity.

anyone tried reishi tea? What does it taste like? I know a few spots locally, never tried brewing it tho.

love it. collect it. drink it with maple syrup. cut it fresh into golfball size chunks. get a few brews out of a few chunks.

I have to order from amazon. Eventually you end up making more tea than you do burning it for tinder so you end up with a shit ton of tinder and order a new batch for tea.
