Chaga

Anyone else make tea or use as tinder?

Very good anti tumor, antioxidant, etc. Its the true tinder fungus. Will catch a cold spark and become a slow burning coal. Good for lighting fires in adverse conditions, or even transfering fire long distance.

I add a bit of the honey i farmed to it. I don't like it black yet.

Also i still can't describe what it tastes like...

Really?
No one here has anything to say about chaga?
>>
If you mix it with licorice root tea there's some sort of sensory synergy that tastes amazing. I'm in zone 6A in the southeast, friends find it regularly up on the Blue Ridge Parkway above 5000ft. I've never looked for it, but I do trade reishi for it occasionally.

Sadly there's no birch at my elevation. Jealous you have some within reach.

Ive heard reishi has some similar health benefits
>>
>>1039891
Used to be big into it, the tea isn't tasty enough to enjoy without the need to do so. And heart disease will kill me before any cancer finds a good hold in my body. There's good evidence it's healthy based on lifespan of tribal peoples.
>>
I use chaga all the time. I have yet to find it growing as low birch in my area.
>>
>>1042726
Do you buy it then? I wish i could hunt for it
>>
Congratulation OP and Anon, you two just made me decide to get root liqourice powder for tea and look for chaga mushroom on birches in my area. Not a lot of replies but a ln effectivr thread
>>
>>1044042
Also never had it before, but pretty much every tree nearby is white birch. I may grab a small sample next time I'm out.

Glad someone got use out of this thread. Chaga is pretty fucking /out/
>>
chaga is great
i love how the more times you boil a single root the sweeter it gets

definitely has a nutty flavor, almost chocolatey at times

Just started a new batch, my last handfull got about 4 brews, now they're drying out for the firekit.
>>
>>1045211
How do u brew it?
>>
>>1039891
I use agave it's great with it. I'd say it has a smokey taste
>>
Chaga is great is it safe to harvest naturally? Isn't it like a mushroom or something?
>>
Please make acquaintance with how to properly harvest chaga before you do, all you idiots are going to render it extinct.
Chaga has little to no therapeutic effects when it's too young, don't just read one guide on this.
>>
Anyone have success on selling it?

Technically its more like mycellium. It's safe to harvest naturally because that's the only way to get it as far as i know. Its rare like truffles, can't really farm it.

Make sure you do research on how to properly harvest it so we don't run out of this precious cancer killing fire starting commodity.

I have to order from amazon. Eventually you end up making more tea than you do burning it for tinder so you end up with a shit ton of tinder and order a new batch for tea.

>shit ton of tinder
This security makes u feel gud
