There are a bunch of little snowmelt lakes in the Cascades, on a hot and dusty day, there's nothing better. Than stripping and diving into that blue crystal.

Also that's a great way to get Giardia or other bugs. And I know that you MOSTLY get stuff from drinking water, but you can get sick from just swimming in it, let alone scrubbing your balls in it. You ever wonder how nicotine patches work? Yeah now include your Mucus membranes in that equations.

If you are below 8000 ft, you can probably swim with few problems
Above this, your swim is going to dominate the chemistry downstream, for years
Go to the leeward side of most alpine lakes and you will find a layer of foam
This came from people bathing upstream or in the lake, or people washing shit in the lake
These lakes have little turnover, so even the sunscreen and moisturizer on your skin will affect them for decades

It depends where i am and how disgusting i am. I will do it but i prefer to just own my stink, give myself a scrub with my canteen water before getting in my truck, then hit up the nearest shower. NP, SP, or if my gym has a nearby branch.

My stink doesn't bother me too bad in the wild, but i don't like stinking up my truck more than necessary.
