This VW engine doesn't have a traditional valve cover, but instead a "camshaft housing".
What's this hose for? It's not the PCV-valve.

No idea what PCV-valve is in English, but it looks to be an oil ventilation hose? To avoid the high pressures in the block.

pcv means "positive crankcase ventilation", it's that hose that redirects blowby-gasses from the crankcase into the intake manifold.
it's unknown to me why the camshaft(s) would need a ventilation, hence my question.
what's funny as well is the lack of a filter, which means there would be oil (-vapor) sucked into the airbox BEHIND the air filter.

Exhaust valve stem seals also have blowby.

that makes sense, now i know what that hose is for

yeah, how lot's of pcv setups are. gunking up your intake. it's why there' so many $200 meme oil catch cans and it's such a reccomended purchase

valvecovers are called cam covers on like ever overhead cam car, what is your point
thats a pcv, just like a million other cars, and yes the crankcase does breath into this area too you autist non mechanic
