O what should I buy?
Buying my second car in a couple days. Should I buy a mk4 or a mk5?
This is my second year driving and I'm gonna get the 1.6 model otherwise my insurance would be minimum 4 grand because of my age. Probably going to modiy the car fairly next so what would you get?
I know the mk4s are suppose to be really good for sound proofing but even so what shoukd I buy.
Leon Cupra.

Insurance would be to high

It's just a 1.8, most insurance companies only care about displacement.

I don't know if you're in the uk or not but here if your under 21 and try to insure on a 1.8 they charge you a fortune

I'm paying a grand year at 22 with 6 months' driving for a 1.6 with 140hp and no black box. Shop around better.

Also, you can get a bigger engine if you get something not many young drivers have. A Leon Cupra would cost a lot to insure because it's a hot hatch which sets off the high risk alarm, but you can get a car with equal engine size/power that costs much less to insure because no young driver has one.

Yeah I'm 19 and have no problem with a 1.6 but 1.8 version of a golf is a turbo and the prices are ridiculous for insurance. I live bang in the middle of london though. So everythings a step more expensive
