What's a reasonable offer for this MR2, was thinking 7000 is that a lowball offer considering the faded paint areas are expensive to fix. Thoughts?

The fact it needed a "dealership overhaul" in the first place is sus. I'd rather have a wrench monkey doing the repairs in his garage than those clowns at the dealership, but that's just me.
t. friend worked at a honda and ford dealership and said it's complete aids

my only worry is damage from possible accidents, i'd take to a shop to have em look at it. But i don't see how dealer can be incompetent when it comes to that, they dont even rebuild engines i don't think they just swap shit out. Hard to find a good shop that really knows these types of cars. All things check out what would you offer?

It looks clean, but I wouldn't pay more than $6500 for something with that much maintenance history regardless of who did it. Lowball the fuck out of him, but not too low to insult him. He wants your money so you have the leverage in this obviously.

>Lowball the fuck out of him

that's exactly what i'll do with 6500, no wayt he takes anything under 7500 I dont think. It's been posted for a while because he literally was asking for 9k for some time

>9k
>for a sub-par MR2
If it was an AW11 I could see that but that's stretching it alittle. Go out there and test drive and flaunt some cash. Sellers always salivate over that shit, bring a friend if you're scared he'll shank you. I bought my last car at a steal solely because I went to the casino last night and had $1500 dollars in one dollar bills and brought it to the seller and he ate it up like a dog. I even let him hold it while we test drove the car. Walked away with a clean baja bug for 1/3 of its worth.

Yer going to lowball him?
>>17844620
you consider 7k a lowball offer?
>>17844218
I've already tried lowballing him. This guy is way too prideful.
He had the car listed for 11,500 at one point, so that shows you exactly how much he thinks it is worth.
>>17844635
OP here, if you're not trolling what'd you think of the car and what's the least you think he'd take
>>17844644
I'd think he'd only take what he's offering so far. I like the car, but I love all MR2s, however, it definitely needs some work. That paint is going to be expensive, as the entire car is going to need a respray. It needs new seats, also.
Also, notice the gauge (boost gauge?) in the place of one of the air vents on the far left side of the dash. That isn't factory. I have reason to believe that this MR2 has been raced if it has a boost gauge.

that's very likely and possibly why he blew is engine and or tranny, i'd like to believe he learned his lesson after though having to dump so much money into it. The mileage isn't too high so i'd bet the suspension and such probably aren't completely fucked. The paint indeed is very expensive, seats too. Guess i'll just wait for a mint N/A since it'll be my daily
