Quick question. I'm talking with a salvage yard to buy a used engine, and I asked if it was still in stock before I drove 80 miles to get it. Here's his response:
We have the 5sfe off.
I know that 5sfe is the engine, but what is he talking about when he says they have the engine off? Does that just mean it's already removed from the donor car? Sorry it's such a dumb question. Also, pic entirely unrelated.

Sounds like they took it out of the car. Junk yard guys are Neanderthals so it's hard to say for sure. Might also imply he'll charge more or it's first come first serve.

Junkyard guys are literally prehistoric, the only instance of homo erectus alive. We completely turned our brains off as soon as we got on the lot, so that could mean anything from ready, to out of the donor car, or not existing.
