Well akshually by buying more used manuals the resale value of vehicles with a manual gearbox raises and people buying new cars (and caring about resale value) will tend to buy more manuals.
So /o/ buying ancient manual pieces of shit is not the problem, automakers building improved automatics and DCTs are. People want those because they are superior in nearly all fields to manuals.

I had to go back 8 years to be able to get a manual version of my car, because the company doesn't make them anymore.
