I intend to buy this car:
The reason I can't go with private party is that I don't have time to inspect and smog it. Given the situation is the above car good for my situation? I only need something reliable to get from point A to B.

>don't have time to inspect and smog it
wtf does this even mean? why don't you have time? if you're buying a shitty nissan for 4k you can't be that busy.
>>17839630
don't have time to run around for repair parts just in case the car I buy from craigslist doesnt pass inspection. Don't have time to buy a meter to read the check engine lights before I buy it for every single car.
>>17839621
Are you the BMW guy from yesterday?
If so, you truly have shit taste in cars.
>>17839657
Lmao, yeah. Somebody told me I was being vain with the BMW. Now, don't tell me Nissan is for hippies too
>>17839675
No, nissans are for niggers. They're built shittily.
>>17839675
Get this instead.

What do people find in these atrocious mid-2000s post Renault Nissans?
I genuinely cannot understand. Get a Taurus or a Camry or something.
>>17839653
Christ man, just buy one of the better bluetooth scan tools, they cost around 100$ and can pick most error codes as well as read CELs, just plug it in and have it record everything while you take it for a test drive, tell the guy you'll be back with an offer and look it over.
>>17839717
To be fair, car selection is pretty shit. I've been perusing the local craigslist and it's all shitty cars or scams.
>>17839733
(i'm not op)
>>17839675
Nissan isn't for hippies, it's for fucking idiots. There's a reason why they're so cheap. Literally anything would be better.
Like I said in the previous thread, just buy a fucking Civic.
>>17839758
I can't get a good civic on craigslist in the bay area. I tried searching a lot. The only trusted options are the official honda showrooms that sell used civics but they are too costly.
>>17839763
look harder.

Too many miles on them. Ill have this caar for 3 more years. Cant buy something wiht 150k + miles
>>17839839
Yes you can. Mileage doesn't matter. How it was maintained is much more important.
>>17839846
Alright. Thanks. How does this one look btw:

A little skeptical about the dealer but seems decent enough since I figure it will pass the smog and inspection guaranteed.
>>17839868
NO. Never buy a shitbox from a dealer. Especially when said shitbox has shitty aftermarket wheels.

>>17839879
Wouldn't it be better than buying from a private party though?
>>17839882
NO. Dealers are out to make as much profit as possible by any means necessary. They probably paid 500 bucks for that car. Do you really want to give some scumbag that much profit? Most private parties will be fairly honest and just want the car gone. Ideally they'll have maintenance records in a folder.
>>17839910
What about this one? it is a franchise dealer, not your regular run of the mill dealer

It's still a dealer, so no. it's too expensive, has a shitty tiny job and it's automatic.

I'd hop on that maxima. it's from a time before nissan went to shit.
